The City Council of the City of.West Covina met November 17-, 1937, at
the'Police Court Room, 1843 West State Highway. Those present
were: P.R. Jackson, F.L..1LOwder', C..H. Coffman, .J.K. Hedges and
L. Reeg. Absent None.
The minutes of the meetings of October. 13.,.and of October 27, 1937,.
were read and approved.
The following bills were read by the clerk and on motion of Council -
.man Coffman, seconded by.Counc;ilman Hedges,.duly put and carried
were allowed and ordered paid.

We had present at this meeting a number of people who live KINIxg live
and own property along -the State Highway, who were here to
protest against the Ordinance of The City of West Covina, making
the set. back line for buildings 50 feet from. the State Highway
property line. After considerable discussion.a motion.was
offered by Councilman Coffman, seconded by Councilman Reeg,
-duly put acid" carried -to change this set, back line from 50� feet
to 35 feet. `
Ordinarice'No.,70, entitled an -Ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance
No. 68, was offered by Councilman Coffman, seconded by Councilman
.Reeg and was passed by the following votes:
'Ayes: P-.R..J ackson,C.H. Coffman.F.L.Mowder.L.Reeg,'J.K. Hedges
Noes: None `
Absent: None.
Resolution No. 21, entitled a resolution requesting the Board of
Supervisors'to have the County Road Department furnish the
labor and equipemt to.resurf ace Orange Avenue from Merced st.
south to the City limits, the City of West Covina to reimburse
the County for said work.
Resolution No.. 22, entitled a resolution asking the County Board of
Supervisors for our portion of the Gas'tax fund, to be used in
resurfacing Puente Street and Orange Ave. from Merced Street
outh to the City Limits.
After some discussion it was moved by Councilman seconded
by Councilman Hedges, that no permits. be issued for any
structure in the City of 'Nest Covina, only on approval by the,,
Council.'
