Those present were: P.R. Jackson, , F.L.-Mowder, L,Reeg, C.H. Coffman and J.K. Hedges.Abse-nt: None. The minutes of the meetings of May 13, 1936, and of. May 22, 1936, were read and. approved. Rubber Stamp Co. 5 .61 1489.68 s Upon motion by Councilman Mowder, seconded by Councilman Coffman, and carried-, the Americam. Legion. Auxiliary of Baldwin Park was given a permit to sell fireworks in the City of West Covina, there being no charge for said permit. This permit is to expire on July 5, 1936. A motion was made by Councilman Mowder, seconded by Councilman Coffman, duly put and carried, that no more police badges be issued except to duly appointed and sworn policemen actively engaged in enforcing the law. It was moved by Councilman Mowder, seconded by Councilman Hedges, duly pub and carried, that.Wendell Hopper be issued a permit to sell milk in the City of °Jest Covina, said permit to be donated on account of Mix. Hopper being a disabled veteran. On motion by 6ouncilman Coffman, seconded by Councilman Mor�fder, duly put and carried, the Omaha Water Co. was crra,nted a permit to excavate fox a pipe line across Cline Street. No bill to be sent for reoairs. 405 The following resolution was offered by Councilmen Mowder, seconded by Councilman Coffman and unanimously carried. F�FSOLVFD that a le tier of a-oreccation be .sent to the Hoard of Pupervisors expressing the appreciation of the City Council, of -the City'of West Covina for the cooperation and assistance furnished, by the County Hoard of. Supervisors and the County Road Department in the surfacing; of O.range,Avenue and installing curbing along Merced and Orange Avenues within the City of 'Nest Covina. Ordinance No', 63, entitled'an ordinance arsiending ordinance No. 31. entitled "An Ordinance.providing for'the creation in the City of West Covina, of zones consisting -of various districts and prescribing the classes of buildings, structures and inprove- • ments in the said several zones and the uses thereof" by adding thereto a new section to be numbered section 12, came up for its ,t• first reading. it was moved.by Councilman Reeg, seconded by Councilman. Coffman, that ordinance N6..64, entitled an -ordinance fixing the tax rate for the fiscal year 1936-1937, .apt :30>-p6-r 4100.00 value- ation be passed. The following is the vote on, said ordinance; Ayes: P.R. Jackson, F.L. Mowder, H. Reeg,C.H..Coffmari and Noes: None J.K. Hedges. Absent: None There being no further, business to come before the Council the meeting; was duly adjourned.
