The City Council of the City of West Covina met April 8, 1936 at the
West Covina Club House. Those present were: Percy R. Jackson,
L. Reeg and C.H. Coffman. Absent: F.L. Mowder and J.K. Hedges.
The minutes.of the meeting of March ll, 1936, were,read and app-
roved.
The following bills were presented by the Clerk and on motion by
Councilman Reeg, seconded by Councilman Coffman were allowed and
ordered paid.

Mayor Jackson and Councilman Reeg went in to sBe the CCoupty Road
Department to see Mr. George W. Jones about the County finishing
the work of paving Orange Avenue from Merced South to the City
limits, and Mr. Jones suggested that -we pay the County the sum
of $100.00 and use the County Road Equipment to do the rest of
this work. The Clerk was instructed to send Mr. Jones a check
for $100.00:
Mr. Carter and Mr. Eiseman of the County fire Department were present

at this meeting and discussed the possibility of the City of West
Covina joining one of the County fire districts.

Resolution in
Resolution No. 7 entitled a/entering/to a memorandum agreement with
the Department of public works State of California for the expend
iture of 4 cent gasoline tax upon the State Highways within the
City of West Covina, was oofered By Councilman Coffman, seconded
by Councilman Reeg and unanimously adopted.
Resolution No. 8, a resolution to accumulate the 4 cent Gasoline tax
money to permit the accomplishment of a larger project to be dete

rmined by the Council, was offered by Councilman Coffman, seconde
ed by Councilman Reeg and unanimously adopted.
.Ordinance No. 61 entitled an ordinance providing for the punishment
of persons in In.'the City. of West. Covina -found in- a state of.
drunkness or intoxication, came.up for its firs.t reading...
Ordinance No. 62, entitild an ordinanceprohibiting the obstruction of
the Highways, streets, and alleys of. the City of West Covina
and the parking of vehicles during the early hours of the
morning, came up for its first reading.
There being no further business to come before the Council the
meeting was duly adjourned.

the book of record of said Council.
