Those present were: Percy R. Jackson, F. L. Mowder, L. Reeg, C.H. Coffman and J.K. Hedges. Absent: None. Barnes came before the Council and asked that the Council pass a resolution naming the State Highway through the City of Nest Covina "Will Rogers Highway" but the Council had already passed -said resolution at the meeting of November 27th, 1935 Joseph Fritch was present at this meeting and the different members of the Council questioned him in regard to the Traffic Officers to be hired by the City of Test Covina. The following resolution was offered by F.L. 11owder, seconded by ® C.H.- Coffman. RESOLUTION I' Whereas,thePCity of West Covina has requested of the Board of j Supervisers of L.A.*Co. an appropreation of $1500.00 for the improvement of the Corner of Orange and Merced in the City of West Covina and whereas the City of West Covina is in receipt of written notice that said sum of `r11500 has been appropriated for said improvement and WHEREAS the City Clerk of the City of West Covina is in receipt of written notice from Geo. W. Jones, County Road Commissioner, that said $1500.00 will be forwarded to the City of Test Covina upon written demand by said City, and, WHEREAS the plans and specifications for said improvement and grades 377 at slid Corner of Merced and Grange Avenue, City of West Covina, have been completed by City Engineer, F.L. Douglas, and presented to the Engineer of L.A. Co. and to C.J. Hurst, of the Hurst property, whose.property is located at said Corner of Merced and Orange Avenue in the City of West Covina for approval, and no objection being made thereto. Therefore be it resolved that the City Council, of the City of West Covina, make immediate demand on the County Load Commissioner for said $1500.00 and that work be commenced at once on the improvement at said Corner of Merced and Orange Avenue as provided in the Resolution of November 13, 19359 requesting the said appropriation of said $1500.00 of the Board of Supervisors of L.A. Co. for said improvement. Said resolution was unanimously adopted. Present were: Percy Jackson, F.L. Tlowder, C.H. Coffman, L. Reeg, and J.K. Hedges. G. Sera a Japanese asked for a permit to build an additional room to his house. It was moved by F.L. 1.:4owder, seconded by R.H. Coffman and carried that the permit be granted subject to inspection by Tom Foster. There being no further. business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned. The foregoing minutes of the meeting of the City Council of the City of West Covina of December 11, 1935s are duly recorded on pages 376 and 377 of the book of record 'of said Council.
