SPECIAL IMETIhG.
A special meeting of the Council of The City of West Covina
was held at the West Covina Club House on November 27th 1935.
Those present were: F.L: 1.Towder$ P. R. Jackson, and C.H. Coffman.
Absent: L. Reeg and J.1 Hedges.
Ordinance No. 59 "Entitled An Ordinance of the City of West
Covina regulating traffic upon the public streets within
said City", was adopted and came up for its first reading.
The following resolution was offered by C. H. Coffman and seconded
by F. L. 11owder:
RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City
of West Covina approve the name of
"Will Rogers Highway" for 8'tate
Highway No. 60 through the City of
Test Covina -heretofore known as
Holt Avenue.
Said Resolution was unanimously adopted.
Present were: Percy Jackson, F. L. Mowder, C.H. Coffman
The following resolution was offered by C. H. Coffman and seconded
by F. L. Mowder.
RESOLVED: That the City of West Covina shall place
at the Easterly and Westerly limits of said
City on the State Highway, signs to be
worded as follows:
"17est Covina City Limits
Traffic Laws will be Enforced"
,,A .'; also six signs; two each to be placed at the
-intersection of Orange Avenue witht he State
Highway, two each to be placed at the inter-
section of Lark Ellen with the State Highway,
and two each to be placed near the intersection
of Citrus Avenue with the State Highway in the
City of Nest Covina, said signs to read
"Intersection, Speed Limits 15 miles per hour".
That the Automobile Club of Southern California
be employed to install said signs. The
lettering on the signs at the Easterly and
Westerly limits of the City of West Covina to be
of such size as to be easily legible for a
distance of 200 feet.

The following resloution was offered by F.L. Mowder and seconded by C.H.
Coffman.
RESOLVED: B the City Council of the City
y y 9 6f.West Covina that a Police
Judge be appointed to conduct a Pblice Court in the City of
West Covina; Police Judge to be paid a salary to be here-
after set by Resolution by the City Council; that suitable
quarters be provided in the City of West as a Court room for
• said Police Judge:.
Be it further resolved that the City of West/,Covina
employ a motorcycle officer to patrol the highways in the
City of blest Covina and to enforce the traffic laws and
ordinance of the City of West Covina, and the State Moror
Vehicle Code as it applies to vehicles and traffic on the
highways in the City of 'Nest Covina; said-,,!motoroycle officers
shall be paid such salary as the City Council may by resolution
provide.
Said resolution was unanimously adopted.
Present were: Percy R. Jackson, F.L. Mo'der and C.H. Coffman.
A motion was made by F.L. Mowder, seconded by C.H. Coffman and unanimously
carried that six.:_signs•marked "Dump nor Rubbish" be purchased by the
City of Weat Covina, to be placed where needed.

adjourned.

Covina of November 27th, 1935, are duly recorded on pages 574 & 375
of the Book of record of said Council.
