The City Council of the City of West Covina met June 12, 1935, at
the West Covina Club House. Those present Were: J.K. Hedges, P.R.
Jackson, L. Reeg and C.H. Coffman. Absent: F.L. Idowder.
The minutes of the meeting of May 8, 1935, were read and approved.
The following bills were presented by the clerk and on motion of C.H.
Coffman, seconded by J.h. Hedges and carried yvere ordered paid.

Mr. Childs of Francisgkito St. came before the Council and asked
what the City had done about surfacing Orange Street from Merced
South to the West Covina City limits, and on motion of Air. Coffman
seconded by Mr. Reeg and carried Mr. Douglas will be instructed
to go, see IVIr. Jones and see what will be necessary in the gray
of a survey at this corner.
Mr. Lindstrom Came before the Council and asked for a permit to erect
an electric sign 5 feet by 8 feet, to be eight feet above the
ground, and on motion by Idr. Coffman, seconded by Mr. Hedges and
carried the permit was granted and the clerk instructed to phone
Mr. Foster and tell him to issue the permit. -
Mr. Fields and Mr. Anchors came before the Council with a petition
asking that a certain district ' just west of the North "Jest City
limits of West Covina be annexed to the City of West Covina. No
action was taken.
There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting
adjourned.

366 of the book of record of said Council.

Of the authority of said State Department of Public Works to deduct
from the gasoline tax apportionment to the City of Hest Covina and
from the State Highway Cooperative Fund, a sum equivalent to the
Twenty-five Hundred ($25.00.00) Dollars heretofore expended by said
Department of Public Works in the City of West Covina as afore-
said.
NOW, THERFkORF., be it resolved by the City Council of the City
of West Covina that no protest be made by it of the action of said
State Department of Public 1.7orks in deducting over a period of'
time from said apportionments to the City of West Covina the sum of
Twenty-five Hundred ("2500.00) Dollars.

It was moved by Mr. Coffraan, seconded by Mr. Moyrder and carried
authorizing the Clerk to employ the firm Crenshaw, Aright and
Deal to audit our books for the last fiscal year.
Mr. Douglas earle before the Council and presented a map of the inter-
section of Orange and Merced Avenues, of the proposed improvements
of this street. ;Ir. Douglas is to make further study and report
at next meeting. ITayor Jackson appointed Mr. Reeg and fir. Hedges
to work with Mr. Douglas on this project.
Mr. LVIowder suggested that the Council go in and see Mr. Hedger of the
Flood Control Department and see if funds might be obtained for
work on Walnut Wash.
It was moved by fir. Reeg, seconded by Mr. Hedges and carried that the
Japanese be given a permit to erect a club House in the City,
provided the plans and specifications are approved when submitted.
Ordinance No. 58 entitled an Ordinance fixing the tax rate for muni-
cipal purposes for the fiscal year 1935-1936 at $.30 per Hundred
Dollars valuation, was adopted by the following vote.
Ayes: F.L. Mowder, P.R. Jackson, J.I. Hedges, L. Reeg, C.H. Coffman
Noes: None
Absent:None
There being no further business to come before the Council the
meeting adjourned.
