West Covina, California, January 9, 1935.
The City Council of the City of [Test Covina met January 9, 1935,
at theViest Covina Club House. Those present were: L. Reeg,
F.L. Mowder, Percy Jackson, C.H. Coffman and J.K.-Hedges.
Absent: None.
The minutes of the minutes of December 12, 1934, were read and
approved.
The following bills were presented by the Clerk and
on motion of
Mr. Coffman, seconded by Mr. Reeg were allowed
and ordered

Mr. Smith states that we can do nothing about putting
a stop sign
at the intersection of State Highway and Citrus
Avenue, unless
the State Highway Department would give us permission to do so.
Owing th the fact that additional work was required to complete the
work of numbering the houses in Test Covina by Mr. Peers $20.00
in addition to the 4J30.00 voted on_Dec. 12, is authorized for
this work, Mr. Peers to refund all c&llections made by him to
the individuals who contributed. This was passed by the follow-
ing vote, to wit
Ayes: Mowder, Jackson, Hedges, and Coffman.
-Noes: Reeg
After some discussion it was suggested by Mr. Jackson that we look
around and see what we could find in the way of a filing cabinet
to be left at the Club hpuse and all the City records stored in
it. On Motion of Mr. Coffman, seconded by Mr. Reeg and carried
Mr. Mowder was instructed to see if he could find something that
• would be suitable for our needs.
There being no further business to come before the Council the
•I meeting adjourned.
The foregoing minutes of the meeting of the Council of the City of
test Covina, of January_ 9.'1111935, are duly recorded on page
359 of the book of record of said Council.

C.C. Toland being first duly sworn deposes and says:
That he is City Clerk of the City of West Covina, California;
That pursuant to a resolution passed by the City Council
of the City of hest Covina on July 2, 1934, declaring its intention
to vacate portions of Irwindale Avenue and California Avenue in the
City of Test Covina and by order of said City Council on December
12, 1934, affiant caused to be printed and posted along said portions

of said highways being vacated as set forth in said resolutions,
Notice of Public Works, said notice being in letters not less than
one inch in length, stating the passage and date of the resolution,
briefly describing the portion of said highways to be vacated and
.
referring to the resolution for further particulars, said notices
were posted by affiant not more than 300 feet apart on the highways
being vacated, to wit, on Irwindale Avenue immediately South of
the State Highway, and on California Avenue immediately South of the
Highway; that there were posted not less than three of said notices
on each of said highways in the City of West Covina. There being no
news paper published in the City of West Covine,affiant did on the
14th day of December, 1934, post in three public places in the City
of West Covina, California, to wit, one at the West Covina Club
house, one on Sunset Avenue in front of the Club House and one at
the Intersection of Lark Ellen Boulevard and Puente Street
Notices of Public Works in the same form as those posted on
the portions of Irwindale Avenue and California Avenue being
vacated by said resolutions, said notices all bearing the name of
Charles Delp as Street Superintendant and C.C. Toland, City Clerk.
That more than 10 days has passed, after a lapse of 30
days after the po sting`of said notices of Public Works in three
public places as above set forth and along the portions of said
streets being vacated, and no protest in writing or otherwise
against the vacating of said portions of said streets has been
received by the City Clerk of the City of West Covina.
