The City Council of the City of West Covina met October 10, 1934,
at the West Covina Club House. Those present Were: Baldosser,
Reeg, Hed'kes, Coffman and Mr. Jackson came in for the last
of the meeting. Absent None:
In the absence of Mr. Jackson Mr. Baldosser acted as chairman.
The minutes of the meeting of September 12, 1034, were read and
approved.
The following bills were presented by the clerk and on motion of
Coffman, seconded by Hedges were allowed and ordered paid.

On motion of Coffman, seconded by Hedges and carried Herb. -Gray
was allowed three days vacation with pay.
Mr. Smith and Iv1r. Neely went in to see Pir. Cortelyou about the
$2500.00 and he says that it was his understanding that
West Covina was to pay the State Highway Dept. fot the
Culverts. Mr. Smith suggests that we see Ir1r. Unruh and
get his opinion on the matter and then see I+Ir. Cortelyou
again.
The clerk read a- letter from Tscharner and Miller asking that
the City do something to relieve Mr. Louis. Johnson of the
floodwaters that come down on the 1,*est end of his Orange
Grove, and after considerable, discussion it was decided
that the City could do nothing about this, and Mr. Smith
was instructed to write Tscharner and Miller to that
effect.
h1r. Russell J. Walsh applied for a permit to construct a cement
wall along the west gutter of Lark Ellen Boulevard between
Workman Street and .arroyo Drive, said wall to be four inches
nearer the jmupuO road than the present wall now is. The
Height of this wall is not to exceed the height/T;e crown, of
the road bed. On motion of Coffman seconded bYReeg and
unanimously carried this permit was granted.

There being no further business to corie before the Board the
meeting adjourned.

Nest Covina, of November 14, 1934, are duly recorded on pages
356-357 of the book of record of said Council.
