09-12-1934 - Regular Meeting - Minutes353 eldest Covina, California, September 12, 1934. The City Council of the City of West Covina met September 12,.1934, at the West Covina Club House, Those Present Were: Jackson, Reeg, Baldosser, Coffman and Hedges. Absent: None. The Minutes of the meeting of August 8, 1934, and of the Adjourned meeting of August 13, 1934, were read and approved. The following bills were presented by the Clerk and on motion of Baldosser seconded by Coffman were allowed and ordered paid. • BILLS San Gabriel Valley Milling Company-- Barley 18.29 Covina Book Shop---- Box File .97 • -and -Art Herb Gray - Labor 121.50 Chas. Delp ------ Labor 94.50 Frank Neely ----- Labor 3.75 $239.01 Highway Dept' The State/claims that the City of West Covina owes them $2500,00 for the Culverts under the State Highway at the intersection of Irwindale, so- after a lengthy discussion of th question' it was decided that if Mr. Neely would consent to do�"r°ie, �:,� . Smith and Mayor Jackson would go into Mr. Cortelyou's Office and see if some definite understanding could be had regarding this matter. It was moved by Mr. Reeg and seconded by Mr. Baldosser that Oscar Jesse be reemployed as a road worker at a sa ary of $4.00 per day, and that the salary of Herb Gray be cut�D4.00 per day beginning September 1, 1934. Unanimously carried. The Clerk read a resolution by the County Board of Supervisors taking over that portion of,Citrus Avenue which is within the City limits of the City of 1-.!est Covina, and asking the consent of the City Council of said city, but it was decided not to act.on this at this meeting. The question of putting a Boulevard stop sign at the intersection od Citrus Avenue and the State Highway was discussed and it was decided to take it up with the State Highway Department • and see what might be done about this. It was moved by Mr. Baldosser and seconded by Mr. Coffman that the City put a reflector at the intersection of Irwindale and Sunset Avenues, and IZr. Reeg was appointed to see to getting one. Carried unanimously. Mr. Reeg suggested that the City should appoint some one to see the County Flood Control about gettkng some posts and wire to repair the wash at the dip on California Avenue. 354 There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned.
