07-11-1934 - Regular Meeting - MinutesWest Covina, California, July 11, 1934. The City Council, of the City of West Covina met July 11, 1934, at the West Covina Club House. Those present were: Jackson, Reeg, Coffman and Hedges. Absent: Baldosser. The minutes of June 20, and July 2nd meetings were read and: -approved as read. The following bills were presented by the Clerk and on Motion of Coffman seconded by Hedges were allowed and orderd paid. A.E. Griffin-- Blacksmith D. Marengo---- Hay Azusa Herald--- Printing • R.W. Mr. Foster suggests that the City of West Covina adopt the uniform codes of the.County, and says that he will -get the necessary ordinances from the County. Ordinance No. 55 was put on its final passage and was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Reeg, Coffman, Hedges and Jackson. Noes: None Absent: Baldosser Ordinance No. 56 came up for its second reading. It was moved by Mr. Coffman and seconded by br. Reeg that the City ©jk�posts from the County for the purpose of putting the names of the Streets at each intersection. The posts not to costmore than 490 cents each. This motion was unanimously carried and Zr. Hedges.wa.0 instructed to get the posts. Mr. Smith stated that he had had a letter from Mr. Balfour stating his appreciation of the resolutions and requesting us to send them in to the County Recorder to be recorded. It was moved by Mr. Coffman, seconded by Mr. Reeg, that the building requirements for all structures in the City of West Covina shall conform to and follow the same requirements as set forth in the building Laws of Los Angeles County, California. Unanimously carried. I • •I Ordinance No. 56 an.* Ordinance fixing the tax rate for the fiscal year 1934-1935 came up for its third and final reading and was adopted by the following vote. Ayes: Jackson, Reeg, Baldosser and Coffman. Noes: None Absent: Hedges. Mr. Reeg states that he had used the horses for a couple of days and stated that he wanted to pay the City $8.00 for the use them. After considering the matter the Board thought that Mr. Reeg was entitled to some compensation for furn ''--s-4?�ing water for the horses so it was decided to credit this; W-'the water acct. This was moved by Coffman and seconded by Baldosser and unanimously carried. On motion of Baldosser; seconded by Coffman and carried the meeting was adjourned until Monday August 13, 1934, at 7 0tclock P.M.
