The City Council of the City of West Covina,June 20, 1934, at the
West Covina Club House. These present were: Jackson, Hedges,
Coffman and Baldosser. Absent: Reeg.
The minutes of the meetings of May 9, and May 11, 1934 were read
and approved.
The following bills were presented by the Clerk.

Mr. Douglas presented a map from the County in regard to street
numbering. He states that the Cogs clylil stand the expense
of doing this work if Supervisor or ers it done, and thinks
that we should request this of Mr. Thatcher. Thereupon the
following resolution was offered By Hedges, seconded by
Baldosser and unanimously carried.
REDO LUTIO N
That the City Council request Supervisor Thatcher to authorize
the County Burveyors office to continue the house numbering
system in the City of West Covina that is being installed
throughout the County. This to be at the expense of the
County.
The clerk read a letter from George Jones, road commissioner
asking that the City of West Covina return to the County
the balance of the money that was not used on Irwindale
Ave. and was instructed to write Mr. Jones stating that
there would not be any balance left after the Contract is
completed.
The Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Balfour and explain the
delay in not completing the contract on Irwindale, and to
tell him that work would be started June 22, 1934 and
carried to completion.

Ordinance No.56 setting the tax rate for the year 1934-1935
came up for its first reading, and on motion of Baldosser
seconded by Hedges and unanimously carried this Ordinance
was adopted.
Ordinance No. 55 came up for its second reading*
Ordinance No.54 Came up for its third and final reading , and
was adopoted by the following votes:
Ayes: Jackson, Reeg, Baldosser, Hedges,
Noes: None
• Absent: Coffman
• mro Smith read a letter that he had redeived from Supervisor
Thatcher's Office in regard to the County surveyor con-
tinuing the house numberibg in the City of West Covina,
in which YAr' Thatcher states that he will advise the
Surveyor to do so.
There being no further business to come before the Board the
meeting adjourned.

to 345 of the book of record of said Council.

On motion of IvIrl Baldosser and seconded by Mr. Coffman and
unanimously carried the salary of the Clerk was restored to
35.00 per month and that of the Treasurer to $15.00 per
month.
Ordinance N6.54 came up for its second reading.
Ordinance No. 55 came up for its first reading.
Mr. Smith stated that he had written to the Pacific Electric R.R.
demanding damage for the breaking of the bulkhead on their
right-of-way through the City of West Covina, and that he
.had had a letter fro-u them but did not know as yet what they
were going to do.
