West Covina, California, May 11, 1934.
The City Councilor -".the City of West Covina met May 11, 19349 at the
West Covina Club,House: This was an adjourned meeting from the
meeting of May 99 1934, for the purpose of granting a permit
to Mr. S.D. Williams erect a service station at the corner of
Orange Ave. and the Stste Highway. Those present Were: Reeg,
hedges, Jackson and Coffman. Absent.: None.
The committee reported that they thought the plans and specifications
of Mr. Williams were allright, and on motion of 1,1r. Coffman,
seconded by Mr. Reeg and unanimously carried the permit was
• granted.
The Clerk was instructed to deliver the permit to 14r. 'xAlliams
• and ebllect the fees for issuing said permit,,which amounted
to $3.40.
Ordinance No.53 was brought up for its first reading, and on motion
of Coffman, seconded by Hedges was adopted by the following
vote;
Ayes: Jackson, Hedges, Reeg and Coffman.
Noes: None
Absent: None
It was moved by Reeg, seconded by Hedges and unanimously carried
that Mr. Thos. E. Foster be appointed to the offices of Build-
ing Inspector and City Marshall of the City of West Covina,
with Compensation for Building Inspector as set , forth in Ord-
inance No. 27.
Mr. Coffman moved and was seconded by It% Reeg that Mr..-F.L. Douglas
be appointed,to the office of City Engineer, to act without
compensation, but to be compensated for any work which he may
be called on to do t said compensation to be set by the Board.
Unanimously Carried.
The question of appointing some one to fill the•yabaney on the ••
Council left by the resignation of Mr. Neely, was discussed,,,
and on motion of 11r. Kedges, seconded by Coffman Mr. F.P.
Baldosser vas named to fill the place for the remainder'of
Mr. Neelys* term. Unanimously carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board the meet-
ing adjourned.

of the book of record of said Council.
