02-28-1934 - Regular Meeting - Minutes�, '3� ' fornia February 28 1934. West Covina, C li , Y � The City Council of the City of 'lest Covina met February 28, 1934, at the tlest Covina Club House. Those Present Were: Robert H. Neely, C.H. Coffman, F.P. Baldosser and Arthur Yarnell. Absent: W.L. Griffiths. The City Council met for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the special election in "Easterly AdditionNo.l" on the question "Shall the'Easterly Addition No.l be annexed to the City of West Covina?" The Council finds upon canvassing the returns of said election as follows: That at the said election the total number of votes cast was 48 votes. That the total number of votes cast for the proposition: ":Shall the Territory designated as "Easterly Addition No .1" be annexed to the City of West Covina?" Yes was 40 voten. That the Total number of votes cast for the proposition: "Shall the territory designated as "Easterly Addition No .1" be annexed to the City of West Covina?" No was 8 votes. !vIayor Neely then declared that a majority of the qualified electors in said "Easterly AdditionNo.lf' had voted in favor of annexation to the City of "Vest Covina , and a resolution was offered by C.H. Coffman, seconded by F.P. Baldosser and unanimously carried declaring the result of the special election held on the 24, day of February 1934, in the territ(bry known as "Easterly Addition No.l't The minutes of the meeting of February 14, 1934 were read and approved. The question of leaving open that part of Sunset Ave. whichis supposed to be closed was discussed, but no conclusion was reached as to what could be done. nr. Baldosser stated that he sold 1,r. Tinker a piece of pipe for $5.00 I and the Clerk is instructed to bill him for that amount. The Clerk presented a letter from 11 . and Hrs. Victor Andersoncomplaining (about the slowness of the City of West Covina in completing the st. through their property. 1Ir. Smith was instructed to write a letter to 1,1r. Cortelyou explaining the matter to him, and was also instructed to sens a copy of same to Iplr. Anderson. Oscar Jesse asked for permission to be off Thursday March 1, 1934. Permission granted.
