02-14-1934 - Regular Meeting - Minutes312 West Covina, California, February 14, 1934. • The City Council of the City of West Covina met February 14, 1934, at the West Covina Club House. Those present were: Baldosser, Coffman, Neely and Griffiths. Absent: Yarnell. The minutes of the meetings of January loth and 24th were read and approved. Mrs. Kranz, Mrs. Jaroch and andeMr. Taschner were present at this meeting. Mrs. Kranz asked about having the gutter along California Street from Walnut Wash north, repaired. She says Mr. Maxson promised her that the City of West -Covina would keep this part of the Street in repair. Mrs. Jarooh asked the Council to do what they could to keep that part of Sunset which,is being out off by the opening of Irwindale , open. She said -that several of the people living in that vicinity were not in favor of closing the Street, and promised to get them to sign a petition to that effect., - 513 Mr. F.P. Harris petitioned the Council for permission to build and conduct a Super -Service Station, lunch room and Soda Fountain at the North West corner of Arroyo Drive and Vincent Street. The Board instructed the Clerk to advise Mr. Harris of the provisions of Ordinance No.28 of the City of West Covina, regarding the construction of buildings iin West Covina. i i It was motioned by Mr. Griffith and seconded by Mr. Baldosser $nd unan- imously carried that Mrs. A.C.Garnier be regranted a permit to operate a pipe line along Covina Avenue in the City of West Covina. Mr. A.C. Garnier was given a permit to builcb and maintain this pipe line some years ago, and there being no reoord of it in the minutes, she asked ®i that it be regranted so it could be put on record. The following resolution was moved by Coffman and.seconded by Griffiths iand unanimously carried. That a municipal election be held april 9th, 1934, forthe purpose of electing three menbers ror the City Council for long tvrm.s, and also, to vote on whether or not the City of West Covina will accep the 11Fssterly Addition No.l" as a part of the City of West Covina; that the location of the polling places and names of the election officers and compensation provided them, be and the same are hereby fixed as follows: i Polling place------------------ West Covina Club House. Sawyer Mrs. Maggie Worley That all of said election officers be paid the sum of $5.00 per day,-La4l�j as full compensation for their servioes in conducting said election. That polls shall be opened at 9 o1aloak A.M. of said day and be kept open until 6 o'clock P.M. therof, when the polls shall be closed. OThere being no further business to come before the meeting it was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn.
