Wset Covina,. California, January 24, 1934.
The City Council of the City of West Covinamet January 24, 1934,
at the West Covina Club House. Those Present Were: Neely,
Griffiths, Baldosser and Coffman. Absent: Yarnell.
Mr. -Griffiths attended the meeting of the Council for the first
time, and was sworn in as a member of the Council.
The meeting was called for the purpose of hearing protests from
owners of property and residents of the "Easterly Addition
No. lff,protesting against being annexed to the City of Test
Covina. At. a meeting held on January 10, 1934, the 24, day
of January at the hour of 7:30 P:M. was set for the purpose
® of hearing such protests,and the.hour of 7:30 P.M. having
arrived and there being no protestant,nor any written protests
having been filed ti.th the Clerk, Mr. Coffman motionea and
was seconded by Mr. Baldosser that the election be held as
set forth inthe resolution providing for said election, and
that the motice of election be published in the La Puente
Journal for four successive weeks beginning January 25, 1934.
The Motion was carried by the following vote.
Ayes: Neely, Baldosser, Griffiths and Coffman.,
Noes: None..,
Absent: Yarnell.
Mr. Baldosser stated that Leo Harding was going to move,and
the barn where he id living being the place where hest
Covina keeps the horses, it will fall on the City to keep
the water connected.
Mr. Baldosser also says that Mr. E.P.Kaye has a large Fresno
11hich he will let the City of West Covina have to use as
long as it needs it, in return for the City having a load
of gravel hauled for his driveway.
It was moved by Mr. Griffiths and seconded by Mr. Coffman and
carriedthat the Mayor instruct the Clerk to write a letter
® to Mr. S.V.Cottelyou protesting against the State Highway
Department, leaving a dirt strip between the pavement and
j the curb, and asking that this strip be oiled and graveled.
j Mr. Neely had the Clerk read a letter from E.C.Eaton County
flood Control Engineer stating that we would be given -
assistance in repairing the break on Walnut _Wssh as soon
as it is possible to do so.
There being no further business to come before the meeting it
was duly motioned.and seconded that the meeting adjourn.

310 of the book of record of said Council.
