The City Council of the City of. West Covina met November 1, 1933,
at the West Covina Club House. Those present were: -Neely,
Baldosser and Coffman. Absent: Drendell and Yarnell.

It was moved by Coffman and seconded by Baldosser that these y
bills be paid. Carried.
It was moved by Coffman and seconded by Baldosser that the
following resolutions be adopted;
RESOLUTION
THAT ITHERFAS, the State of California is widening and
improving the State Highway through the City of West Covina, known
as Arroyo Avenue, and
6�1HER AS, it is important to the City of West Covina that
Irwindale Avenue be extended southerly from said State Highway
to its intersection with Sunset Avenue,
NOW 'THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the
City of 17est Covina at" its regular meeting held on the lat day of
November, 1933, request the Board of Supervisors of Los. Angeles
County, California, to appropriate Twenty-five Hundred and no/100
($2500.00) Dollars to be used by the City of �Alest Covina for the
acquisition of a right of way sixty feet (60 ft.) in width for the
purpose of extending Irwindale Avenue from the State Highway (known
,in the City of West Covina as Arroyo Avenuej southerly to its in-
%tersection with Sunset Avenue, to* improve this extension by paving
,the roadway with roc-k and oil twenty feet (20 ft.) in width; to
furnish and construct all culverts necessary to satisfactorily
carry and discharge -the drainage along: Sunset Avenue into 111alnut
Creek. —

RESOLUTION
T l�.T WRF REAS, the City of West Covina is securing a right
of way sixty feet (60 ft.) in width for the purpose of extending
Irwindale Avenue from the -State Highway in the City of West Covina

to its intersection with Sunset Avenue, and
III:REAS, the City of 'lest Covina has not sufficient funds
to make said improvement,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the. City Council of
the City of West Covina request the State of California to assign
to the City of West Covina its prorata of the $500,000 cooperative
fund apportioned to the cities of Los Angeles County, and also
the prorata share of the one-fourth of one cent State gasoline
tax to be applied on the costs of this project provided further
that the State will maintain the State Highway now known as Arroyo
Avenue in the City of- West Covina through said City of West Covina
at the State.'s expense.

RESOZUT ION
THAT ViHEIRE,AS, the City of West Covina has adopted a re-
solution requesting the Board of Supervisors ,of Los Angeles County,
California, to appropriate Twenty-five Hundred and iio /100 ($2500.00 )
Dollars to be used for the acquisition of a right of way, sixty
(60 ft.) feet in width for the purpose of extending Irwindale
Avenue south from the State Highway, , known in the Sity of West
Covina as Arroyo Avenue, southerly from said State Highway to its
intersection with Sunset Avenue.
NOi'd THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of West
Covina assume all .responsibility for any damage that may result by
the diversion of any flood waters that may be diverted by said
change ii, said roads..

It was moved by Coffman and seconded by Baldosser that meeting
adjourn. Carried.
