The City Council of the City of West Covina met June Eth 19252,at
the West Covina Club House. Those present were: Robert H.
Neely,C.H.Coffman and Frank Baldosser.Absent: Arthur,Yarnell
and Joseph Drendell,
The Minutesof the meeting of Yhy 12th, were read and approved.
The following bills were presented by the C1erk.On motion by

The bond of C.C.Tolancd was OYID by the Attorney and turned
over to Mr. Neely,
A letter from Los Angeles County Bureau of County Welfare was
read by the Clerk, and Mr, Smith was asked to reply to it.
The Question of improving Service Street east of Aausa Avenue
was discussed, but it.was decided to wait and see what the
County was going to do about helping with this Street.
Moved by Baldosser Seconded by Coffman that meeting Adjourn.
Carried.

WHEREAS,proposal has been madefor diversion of a part of such
special motor vehicle revenues into the general fund of the State,
particularly for the purpose of.paying principal and interest
upon outstanding State highway bonds,an.d
WHEREAS,any such diversion of special motor vehicle revenues has
not been sanctioned by the Legislature or the people of.this
Stateand is not"to the best interests of the people of this State,
and
WHEREAS,yarious proposals have been made for.additional taxes on
motor vehicles which would appear unjust. and unnecessary; Now,
Therefore,
IT IS F7-REBY RESULVFDby the City. -of Nest Covina that it will

oppose any increase in the gasoline tax,motor vehicle li0ense
fees or any other forms of motor vehicle taxes and will further
oppose the use of motor vehicle:revenues to pay the principal
or interest upon State highway bonds and will oppose the use of
special motor vehicle revenues -for any purpose or purposes other
than those now specified by law; and
IT -IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of West Covina is opposed
to Senate Constitutional Amendment No.22, which will appear on
the November ballot,which seeks to divert the state's share of
the franchise taxes collected from busses and trucks to the
general fund which would deplete the highway fund in an amount
of.approximately Four Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars a year.
The forg_rgoing.Resolution adopted this 12,day of May 1932.
On motion by Coffman seconded by .Drendell 11r. Neely and Vx.Baldosser
were asI<;ed to see about the necessity of installing Boulevard
Stop Signs at the corne of Lark Ellen. and., Cameron streets.

The Question of salaries was brought over from the last ,meeting.
It was decided to pay the Clerk.$25.00, Attorney $ 5.00 5reasurer
$13.50 and the road me $4.05 per day with not to exceed one
hours overtime. Coffman moved and was seconded by Drendell that
this be excepted. Carried.-
- It was moved by Coffman seconded by Baldosser that the meeting
-adjourn.- Carried.
