The City Council of the City of West Covina met January 6, 1932
at the Viest Covina. Club House. Those present were:
Robert H. Neely, F. P. Baldosser, Joseph Dr.endel, C. 1.1.
Coffman, and Arthur Yarnell. absent: None.
The,%tinutes of the Council Meeting of December 16, 1931, were read
and approved.
It .was moved by Baldosser and seconded by Yarnell that the follow-
ing bills be paid. Carried.

The resignation of h1illie Lois Anderson as City Treasurer was
read by the Clerk.
It was moved by Drendel and seconded by Yarnell .that resignation
of 1iillie Lois Anderson be accepted. Carried.
C1Frk instructed to*draw a, resolution thanking treasurer for
her services as treasurer.
News of the death of the City Clerk, C. D. Wol.finger, having been
received the City Council adopted the following resolu-
tions
WHEREAS C. D. Wolfinger, City Clerk of the City of
West Covina has faithfully discharged the duties of
the office of City Clerk for said City from the
time of its incorporation in 1923 to the time of
his incapacity and has giver freely of his time
and talent in the interest of said City.
AND WHEREAS the news of his passing came so sudden-
ly that it was a d ist:irct shock to his neighbors
and to the members of the City Council of the City
of 'Jest Covina.
AND INHERE -AS the excellent character, ability,
efficiency and competency of the deceased is
well recognized by -the citizens of the entire
community and particularly of the City of West
Covina.
AND VNHEREAS his passing is a distinct loss to
the entire community.

N017 T'H R.EFORE be it resolved that the City
Co,ancil of the Cite of West Covina in redizlar
session hereby expresses to the widow of dec-
eased its .sympathy in this great loss to her
and expresses to her the sincere condolence of
each member of the City.Courc.il.
The -Deputy Clerk is hereby instructed to spread
this in the minutes of the City of ?Jest Covina
and tb send a copy of the same to Mrs. C. D.
ViQlf. inger.
The application of R. T. Lang for the office of City Clerk
was read.by Deputy Clerk.
Discussion of a successor to the office of City Clerk followed.
The office of City Clerk was unanimously offerbdtto
Lance D. Smith if he could lawfully hold same.
The Clerk read- appl'ica.t,ion-s for office of City Treasurer from
i+'rances Maxson and Mrs. Mary T. O'Brien.
It was moved by Yarnell and seconded by Drendel that Frances
Maxson be appointed as Treasurer to fill the unex-
pired term of Mrs. Anderson at same salary of $15.00
per month. Carried.
Road Committee reported that the palm trees at the corner of
Azusa and Arroyo had been removed in accordance with
their instructions at the meeting of December 16, 1931.
It was moved by Baldosser and seconded by Coffman that meeting
ad j ourn. Carried .

of Guest Covina., of. January 6, 1932, are duly recorded
on Pages 236 and 237 of the book of record of said
Council*
