West Covina, California, September 2, 1931.
The City Council of the City. o.f .West Covina. met September 2,' 1931
at the West Covina -Club House. Those present were:
Robert H. Neely, F. P. Baldosser, Joseph Drendel,
Arthur Yarnell, C. H. Coffman. Absent: None.
The Minutes of the Council Meeting of August 12, . 1931, were read and
approved.
The following bills were presented by the clerk:

Treasurer presented by Geo. R.

It was moved' by' Baldosser and seconded by Yarnell that the bills
be pa: id . Motion carried.
Discussion followed as to the advisability. of purchasing teams.
Hr. Baldosser and.Mr. Drendel reported having looked at
several teams and reported one particularly good team
a.t-$225.00 owned,by Drew Carriage Company. Under author-
ity given to the road committee at previous meeting the
road committee reported that they would purchase two
teams at once and 'sta.rt cleaning gutters. Discussion
then followed as to what streets should receive attention
first. It was .decided to start on Willow Street.
Treasurer reported the condition of treasury as having $2197.00 on
,hand at the present time.
Clerk read the resolution of the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles
County appropriating $1000.00 to the repair of ,the bridge
on Merced Avenue over. Walnut Creek.
f Clerk read letter from Director of Stabilization of Los Angeles
County requesting the City to bring up to date a. list of
the unemployed in the City of West Covina. Clerk was in-
structed to answer the letter to the effect that at pres-
ent there is no unemployment in t.he.City.
It was moved by Drendel and seconded by Coffman that the meeting
adjourn. Carried.
