The .City Council of the City of hest Covina met August 12, 1931
at the West Covina Club House. Those present were:
Robert H. Neely, Joseph Drendel, F. P. Baldosser,
C. H. Coffman. Absent: Arthur Yarnell.
The Minutes of the Council Meeting of July 8, 1931, were read and
approved.
Ordinance No. 50 was given its third r. ead ing .by the clerk.
It was moved by Coffman and seconded by Drendel that Ordinance
No. 50 be put on its passage. ILlotion carried.unan-
imously.
It was moved by Coffman and seconded by Baldosser that Ordinance
No. 50 be adopted. Carried.
The following bills were presented by. the clerk:
Chas. Delp -labor- - - - - 108.91
Ralph Barker -team, mowing machine
and roadwork - - - - - 84.60
Total- 193.51
It was moved by Baldosser and seconded by Drendel that. the bills be
paid. Motion carried.
It was moved by Drendel and seconded by Coffman that Ordinance No. a
fixing the tax rate o $.40 per $100.00 for the year 1931-
32, be placed on its final passage.
Ayes: Neely, Drendel, Baldosser, Coffman
Noes: None*
Absent: Yarnell.
Ordinance No. 51 was adopted on motion of Drendel and
seconded by Coffman. Carried.unanimously.
Discussion followed as to the most economic manner of handling road
funds for the coming year and also the manner of handling
street work.
It. was moved by Drendel and seconded by Coffman that the Road Com-
mittee investigate the cost of teams and wagons with view
to start cleaning gutters, and use their discretion in
buying said teams. Motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Baldosser and seconded by Coffman that the meeting
adjourn. Carried.
