The City Council of the City of: West Covina met May 13, .1931
at the West Covina Club House. -Those present were:
C. H• Coffman, Joseph Drendel, F.. Pi Baldos°ser:.
Absent Arthur Yarnell*
it was moved by Coffman and seconded by Drendel that Robert H.
Neely be appointed to f ill the unexpired term of S. L.
Watts who resigned as Zayor and City Councilman on
April 29, 1931. Motion carried unanimously.
It was moved by Coffman. and seconded by Drendel that Robert H.
Neely be appointed as Mayor of West Covina. Motion
carried unanimously. Robert H. Neely took the oath of
office as City Councilmen and as Mayor of West Covina,
the oath being administered by Lance D. Smith, Deputy
Cle rk.
The Minutes of the Council Meeting of April 299 1931, were read
and approved.
It was moved by Baldosser and seconded by Coffman that that portion
of the resolution in the Minutes of the Meeting of April
29, 1931, pertaining toa payment of $40.00 to all em-
- .ployeas of the Road Department of West Covina., including
Wayne Weaver, Street Superintendent, as vacation pay, be
set aside as to Wayne Weaver and the amount to be given
him be reconsidered. Motion carried unanimously.
It was moved by Coffman and seconded by Baldosser that Wayne Weaver,
former Street Superintendent, having worked the f irst day
of .April before being laid off, be paid 'in full his salary
for the month ,of April, 1931. Motion carried,
It was moved by' Coffman and seconded by Baldosser that the following
bills be paid:
Viney-Milliken Lumber Co. `-'19:60
State Compensation Insurance Fund 122:47
• Blue. Diamond Roe k Co. 74..86
Total 2160
It was moved by Drendel and seconded by Coffman that. a permit be
given Gus Andreatta to lay one pipe line across Pine Street
at Motion carried.
It was moved' by Drendel and seconded .by Coffman that the street force
not be pub back to work steady for two weeks longer.
Motion carried.
It was moved by Coffman and seconded by Baldosser that the meeting
adjourn. Motion carried.
