06-11-1930 - Regular Meeting - Minutes-204- West Covina, California, June ll,..1930. The City Council of the City of West Covina met at the West Covina Club house on June llth, 1930. Those presentrwere: S. L. Watts, Arthur Yarnell, C. H. Coffman, Joseph Drendel, F. P. Baldosser. Absent: alone. The Minutes of the Council Meeting held May 14th, 1930, were read and approved. It was moved by Joseph Drendel and seconded by C. H. Coffman that the following bills be paid. Carried. Consolidated Rock Products Co. 1241.83 Standard Oil Company . P y 55.08 W. S. Sawyer 9.50 Charles Delp, Labor, 121.50 Wayne Weaver, Street Supt. and teams, 406.00 Oscar Jesse, Labor,121.50 Joe Flick, Labor, 121.50 Ben Ruegge, Labor,. 121.50 A Resolution was offered by C. H. Coffman, and seconded by Joseph Drendel, that in view of the fact that the project for the opening and widening of Rowland Avenue from Vincent to Puente Avenues having been protested by 52.5% of the pro - petty owners adjoinsaid street, that said project be abandoned. The City Clerk was directed to inform the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County of this resol- ution, and also to express the thanks of the Council of the City of West. Covina for their assistance and co-oper- ation. This resolution carried unanimously. It was moved by Joseph Drendel and seconded by Arthur Yarnell that the maps sent out for approval by the Regional planning commission of the subdivision oftAime L. Didier be approved. Carried unanimously. A preliminary resolution granting bbnsent by the City of West Covina to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County to im- p rove that p©rt ion of Covina Boulevard b etween Baldwin Park �t and Covina, lying within the City limits of the City of West Covina, was read. It was moved by C. H. Coffman and seconded by Arthur Yarnell that said resolution be adopted. Carried unanimously. There wasa discussion of the continuation of road work on Vine. Street until this road is completed, in contemplation of receiving aid from the County Road Department. It was unanimously agreed that this work be continued to its com- plet ion.. There was also a discussion in regard to the displacing of the teams with trucks and the purchase of heavy tools and tractors for roadwork.' All were of the opinion that the time has not -203- yet arrived, nor the finances in such a condition, that such a change could be considered. �gyor.Watts brought up the matter of having a letter from a "fact finding commission" in Los Angeles concerning the consoli- dation of the City and County governments of Los Angeles . . County. A discussion followed. It was moved and seconded that the meeting be adjourned. Carried.
