The Council of the City of West Covina held a special meeting
at the West. Covina. Club house on the 21st day of Au,;ust, 1g29.
The meetinngg was called for the express purpose of fixi the tax
levy for the.fiscal year 1929-1930 and the adoption ofTrdinance
No.47 entitled "An Ordinance fixing the tax rate for municipal
purposes for the fiscal y9ar 1929-19301' which ordinance had its
first reading at the meeting held on August 14, 1929. Present,
Coffman, Gloege, King, Watts and Yarnell; absent, None.
Minutes of the meeting of August 14th read and approved.
Gloege moved that the tax levy be $.5o on each $100. of tax-
able property exclusive of o erative property in the City of West
Covina- no second to the motion was made and it was lost. Coff-
man moved that the tax levy be $.60 on each $too. of taxable pro-
perty, exclusive of operative property, in the City of West Covina,
Which motion was seconded by'Yarnell and carried by the following
vote: Ayes : , Coffman, Gloege, King, Watts and Yarnell.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.-
Gloege moved that said Ordinance No.47 entitled p An Ordinance
fixing.the tax rate for municipal purposes for the.fiscal year 1929-
19301, be placed upon its passage, iihich motion was seconded by Coff-
man and unanimously carried.
Yarnell moved that said ordinance No. 47.entitled "An Ordinance
fixing the tax rate -for municipal purposes for the fiscal year 1929-
1930" be adopted, which motion was seconded by King and the said
Ordinance.No.47 was.adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Coffman, Gloege, King, Watts and Yarnell.- Noes: None
Absent: None.
On motion duly seconded, the meeting adjourned.
