The Council of the City of West Covina met at the West Covina
Club House -on the 13th day of Tg:arch, 1929. Present Coffman, Gloege,
King, Watts and Yarnell.
_►+4inutes of the meeting of February 13th read and approved.
- The following bills having been audited by the auditingg commit-
tee, on motion by Yarnell, seconded by Coffman and unanimously car-
ried, were allowed and ordered paid:

The following resolution was read:
."RES0LVED, that the Council of the City of West Covina do here-
by petition the legislators of the State of California to submit
Assembly Bill No.459-, introduced by Assemblyman Baum and commonly
known as the California Tax Payers County Unit School. Bill, to a
commission appointed byy the Governor for further study.
It is believed b this Council that the interests of the
School children of the Mate of California will be best served by
subjecting this measure to careful study for a -period of at least
two years, before enacting a lags which involves such great changes
in the educational system as this bill proposes."
Yarnell moved the adoption of the above resolution; this mo-
tion was seconded by Gloege and the resolution was.adopted by the
following vote:
Ayes: Coffman, Gloege, King, Cutts and Yarnell.
Noes: "one.
Absent: None.
On motionby Coffman, seconded by Yarnell and unanimously
carried, the action of the Clerk, in advance of this meeting in
ggrranting ermission to the Southern Counties Gas Company to day
75 feet o V4" service main on.Pacific Avenue, is approved.
Street Superintendent Weaver explained that he had interviewed
Mr. Veenhuyzen off' the County Road Department in relation to the con-
dition of the small bridge on Azusa Ivenue, just south of the Walnut
Creek bridgge, and Ib'Ir. Veenhuyzen verbally informed him that the
County woluld take over the work of reneging this bridge. A letter
written r;1r. Veenhuyzen by Street Superintendent Weaver, thanking
him for his assistance, was read. On motion by Coffman, seconded
by Yarnell and unanimously carried a vote of thanks was tendered
Mr. Weaver for the unusual personai service rendered.

On motion duly seconded, the meeting adjourned.

and 181 of the book -of records of said Council.
