02-13-1929 - Regular Meeting - Minutes179 . • • West Covina, Calif., February 13, 1929 • The Council of the City of West Covina met at the West Covina Club House on the 13th day of February 1929. Present, Coffman, Gloege, King and Watts; absent, Yarnell.. Minutes of the meeting of January 30th read and approved. The following bills, having been audited by.the auditing com- mittee, on motion by Coffman, seconded by Gloege and unanimously carried, ere allowed and ordered paid:. Oscar Jesse, Labor 44.00 Bert Humphrey, 64.00 Pete Berber, p 92000 Chas Delph, n 100.00 Joe Flick, 108.00 Wayne Weaver, Teams 216.00 Street Supt 135.00 California Materials, Inc., Crushed Rock Builders Crushed Rock Products Co., Crushed Rock Hurley Bros., Miscl Supplies Viney-Milliken Lumber Co., Guard Rail Posts Total, 351.00 191.21 18.52 2.7o 8.20 979.63 .Ordinance No.44, entitled, "an.brdinance amendingSection 3 of Ordinance No.7 entitled, "an ordinance-providingforthe appoint- ment of a Superintendent of Streetsll came up for its second reading and was read by the Clerk; on motion by Coffman, seconded by Gloege and unanimously carried, said ordinance No.44 was placed upon its passage, whereupon it was moved by Coffman that said ordinance be adopted, this motion was duly seconded by Gloege and the said ordin- ance No.44 was adopted by the following vote Ayes: Coffman, Gloege,. King and Viatts. Noes: None. Absent: Yarnell. A communication from the Board of Supervisors, Los Angeles County, dated January 30th, advising that at a meeting of that body held January 28th a resolution was adopted authorizing an apppropria- tion of $3500.00 kor road maintenance within the City of Wes i Covina, was read by the Clerk• it was moved by Coffman seconded by King and unanimousl carried, ghat the Clerk be,instructed to write Hon. Fred T. Beaty, suppervisor,. and Mr. John C. Veenhuyyzen, Superintendent of Division of Accounts, -Los Angeles County Road.Department, expressing the.appreciation and thanks of West Covinaand. this body for their personal assistance in securing the appp deroppriation. Mayor Watts re- quested that as -he had interceded for l�`est Covina with Supervisor Meaty and Mr. Veenhuyzen in 1 the matter of -the appro riation, he be permitted to -sign the letters, which was agreeable �o the Council. On motion duly seconded, the meeting adjourned.
