West Covina, Calif., November 7, 1928.
The City Council of the City of West Covina held its regular
meetingPat. the West Covina Club House on the 7th day of November,
1928: resea.t Coffman, Gloege, King, * atts and Yarnell. Absent,
none.
Liinutes of the meeting of October loth read and approved.
Ordinance No. 42, entitled "An ordinance granting to the Southern
California Edison Company, a corporation, its successors and assigns',
a franchise for a period of fifty (50) years, to construct, operate,
alter and maintain an electric distribution and transmissionsystem,
• consisting of poles, towers, cross -arms, conduits, cables, wires and
other appliances, under, over_, in, along., upon and across all the
streets, alleys, public highways and public places within the City
of Vest Covina, County of Los Angeles, State of California, for the
purpose of conducting, transmitting and distributing electricity and
electrical energy for light, heating and power purposes, and for any
and all other purposes for which electricity can be used came up
for its second reading and was read by the Clerk, whereupon it was
moved by Gloege, seconded by Yarnell and unanimously. carried that
said ordinance be laced on its passage. Yarnell thereupon moved
that ordinance No.42 be regularly adopted; this motion was duly
seconded by Coffman and said ordinance No.42 was adopted by the fol-
lowing vote:
Ayes: Coffman, Gloege, King, Watts and Yarnell
Noes: None.
Absent: hone.
Ordinance No.43 entitled "An ordinance combining that portion
of the City of West Covina known as the "Northwest Annexation District"
and the City of West Covina proper, under one name and number for the
purpose of Taxation to be known in Los Angeles County as West Covina
Tax District No.l , came u for its second reading and was read by
the Clerk. King moved tha said ordinance No.43 be placed on its
passage, which motion was duly seconded.by Yarnell and\unanimously
carried. Coffman moved that said.O rdinance No.43 be adopted; this
motion was duly seconded by Gloege and said Ordinance No.43 was
adopted by the-followlin-9 vote:
Ayes: Coffman, tloege, King, Watts and Yarnell.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
• On motion duly seconded, the meeting adjourned.
