05-16-1928 - Regular Meeting - Minutes151 West Covina, Calif., May 16, 1928. The Council of the City of Wiest Covina met at the West Cov- ina Club House on the 16th day of May, 1928. Present: Council- men Gloege, King, Watts and Yarnell. Absent: Councilman Maxson. Minutes of the meeting of -May 9th read and approved. The following bills, having been audited by the auditing committee on motion of Councilman Gloege, seconded by Council- man Yarnell and unanimously carried, were allowed and the Clerk was instructed. to drag warrants for the same: .Hurley Bros., Tools, etc 18.85 F. L. Crane,.Rental of jacks 20.00 Total, 38.85 Ordinance No.37 entitled "an ordinance prohibiting the dump- ing of junk or rubbish on private property" came up for its second reading and was read by the Clerk and on motion of Councilman Yar- nell, seconded by;Councilman King and carried, said Ordinance No. 37 was placed on its passage., Councilman King moved that said Ordinance o ��ee adopted which motion as duly seconded by Counci - e' carried by the following vote: Ayes: Gloege, King, Watts an Yarnell. Noes: None. Absent: Maxson. Ordinance No.38 entitled "an ordinance amending Section No.1 of Ordinance No.7, entitled " an ordinance determining the sal- aries of certain officers" came up for its first reading and was read by the Clerk. Ordinance No.39 entitled Man ordinance repealing Ordinance No.14, entitled "an ordinance regulating the use of certain high- ways" came up for its first reading and was read by the Clerk. Ordinance No.40 entitled "an ordinance regulating the use of certain highways" came up for its first reading and was read by the Clerk.. Deed from Charles Emerson -Daugherty et al, to the City of West Covina, executed in duplicate and designated as L A County R.D.109 covering a small portion of Lot 3, Tract No.930, necess- ary in the widening of Azusa Avenue, was examined by the Council and on motion of Councilman King, seconded by Councilman Gloege and.unanimously carried, said deed No.109 was approved -and the Clerk was instructed to forward same to the Registrar of Torrens Titles for recording and in line with instructions from Road Commissioner Jones. Street Superintendent Weaver again brought up the condition of, Orange Avenue, said to be fast oing to ruin by reason of be- ing continually saturated with was a water from the Azusa Irri— - ting Company's lines. Councilman Yarnell su ested that another letter be sent the irrigating company and ifey do not there- after take care of this water, he would favor some process of law against them. 152 • 0 On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting ad- journed.
