02-15-1928 - Regular Meeting - Minutes143 Kest Covina, Calif., February 15, 1928. • The Council of the City of West Covina met at the Vest Covina Clubhouse on the 15th day of February, 1928. Present Councilmen Gloege, King and Yarnell. Absent Councilmen Maxson and Watts. Minutes of the meeting of January 18th read and approved. Berber, ,p Earl Gray, n Wayne Weaver, Supt 130.00 been audited by the auditing committee, seconded by Councilman King and unani- the Clerk was instructed to draw war - Bridge Lumber Teams 208.00 A. E. Griffin, Toole'repd F. L. Douglas, Engineering vrork. Neuner Corpn., Election supplies 49.46 20.06 36.00 16. oo 16. oo 1 o4. oo 1o4.00 14.00 24 . oo 338.00 5.50 12.50 Total, 74o.00 Ordinance No.36 entitled pan ordinance granting to the Azusa Irrigating Compan , a corporation, a franchise to contruct and for a period of fort (4) years to maintain and operate a system of pipe lines for the transportation and distribution of water under, along and across certain public streets in the Cityy of West Covina, Calif." came up for its second reading and was read by the Clerk. On motion of Councilman Yarnell seconded by Councilman King and unanimously carried, said Ordinance 6.36 was placed upon its passage. On motion of Councilman King, seconded by Councilman Yarnell, said Ordinance No.36 was adopted by t�e following vote: Ayes: Gloege, King and Yarnell. Noes: None. Absent: Maxson and Watts. A letter from the'Wheeler Company, dated February 7, 1928, naming a lump sum of $896.00 they would ask to do the proposed repair work on the Walnut Creek bridge on Sunset Avenue, was read whereu on Council- man Yarnell moved thal the Clerk be instructed to advise the Wheeler Company that "Nest Covina accepts their bid and requests that the work be eompfeted with the least possible delay; this motion was seconded by Councilman King and unanimously carried.
