Feat Covina., Calif., January 18, 1928.
The Council of the City of West Covina met at the best Covina
Club -House on the 18th day of January 1928. Present Councilmen
Gloege, King, 111axson, Batts and Yarnell. Absent, None.
Minutes of the meeting of November 3oth read and approved.
The following bills, having been audited by the auditing com-
mittee, on motion of Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Yar-
nell and carried, were allowed and the Clerk instructed to draw
warrants for the same

Ordinance No.36 entitled Nan ordinance granting to the Azusa
Irrigating Company, a franchise to construct and for a period of
forty (40J years to maintain and operate a system of pipe lines
for the transportation and distribution of water under, alongg and
across certain public streets in the City of West Covina, Calif."
came up for its first reading and was read by the Clerk.
A communication from the Board of Supervisors, Los Angeles
County, enclosing copy of resolution adopted by said Board of
Supervisors on January9, 1928 approving plans and specifications
in the matter of A uisition and Improvement District No.52; there
was also enclosed two copies of a resolution to be adopted by the
City Council of the City of Nest Covina in the matter of said
Improvement District No.52, all of which was read by the Clerk
and discussed by the Council. Councilman Watts moved that the
resolution be accepted and placed on file, which motion was second-
ed by Councilman Yarnell and unanimously carried.
A communication from Lee J. Wood 'requesting permission to
construct a concrete culvert to cross gutter in from of his residen-
ce on Orange Avenue, was.read by the Clerk, but as the customary
deposit of $25.00 did not accompany the request, no action was
taken.

On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned
