Minutes of the Council
of the
City of Vilest Covina
West Covina, Calif., August 17, 1927.
The Council of -the City of West Covina met at the Vest Covina
Club House on the 17th day of August, 1927. Present Councilmen
Gloege, Maxwon, iatts and Yarnell. . Absent Councilman King.
Minutes of the meeting of August loth read and approved.
The following bills having been audited by the auditin commit
tee, on motion of Councilman Gloege, seconded by Councilman Parnell,
and unanimously carried, viere allowed and ordered paid:
State Compensation Insurance Fund, PremiLvn 117.8o
• Ordinance No.33 entitled ,an ordinance amending ordinance No .31
entitled loan ordinance providing for the creation in the city of
Vilest Covina, of zones consisting of various districts and prescrib-
inf� the classes of buildings, structures`�and improvements in the
said several zones, and the uses thereof by adding a new section to
be numbered section 101, came -u-n for its second reading and was read
by the Clerk, whereupon Councilman Yarnell moved that ordinance No.
33 be placed on its passa•e, this motion was seconded by Councilman
Vatts and was carried by to following vote: Ayes: Gloege, 10axson,
Watts and Yarnell. Noes: None. Absent: King. Councilman Watts
moved the adoption of ordinance No.33, which motion was seconded by
Councilman Yarnell and said ordinance was adopted by the following
vote:. Ayes: Gloege, Dflaxson, Watts and Yarnell. Noes: None. Absent:
King.
Ordinance No.34 entitled "an ordinance prohibiting the flowing
of water in public streets" came up for its second reading and was
read by the Clerk; Councilman Yarnell moved that ordinance No.34 be
placed on its pass e this motion was seconded by Councilman GloeEp
and carried by'the oilowing vote: Ayes: Gloege. Maxson, Watts and
Yarnell. Noes: None. Absent: king. On motion of Councilman Yarnel
seconded by Councilman viatts, said ordinance was adopted by the fol-
lowing vote: Ayes: Gloege, Maxson, Watts and Yarnell. Noes: None.
Absent: King.
Ordinance No.35 entitled ',an ordinance fixing the tax rate for
municipal purposes for the fiscal ear of 1 q2.7-1 q28" came up for its
first reading and was read by the Mrk.
On motion duly -made seconded and. carried, the meeting ad'ourned
