City of `iVest Covina.
'nest Covina, Calif., Aug 10, 1927.
The Council of the City of West Covina met at the West Covina
Club House on the 11th day of August, 1927. Present Councilmen
Gloege, Plaxson, ��Vatts and Yarnell; absent Councilman King.
Minutes of the meeting of July 13th-read and approved.
The following bills, having been audited by the
mittee, on motion of Councihnan Yarnell, seconded by
. atts and unanimously carried, were allowed and the

Ordinance O-32 entitled��"an Ordinance declaring certain
streets to constitute boulevards" came up for its second readin
and was read by the Clerk, whereupon Councilman Watts moved that
said ordinance be placed on its passage; this motion was duly se-
conded by Councilman Yarnell and was carried by the followi vote:
Ayes: Gloege, Maxson, Watts and Yarnell; Noes, None, Absenting.
On motion of Councihan Yarnell, seconded by Councilman Gloege,
said ordinance NO-32 was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Gloege,
Maxson, Watts and Yarnell; Noes: bone; .Absent, King.
Ordinance No.33 entitled " an Ordinance amending Ordinance No.
31, entitled An Ordinance providing for the creation in the City of
. nest Covina, of zones consisting of various districts and prescrib-
ing the classes of buildings structures and improveMents in the said
several zones, and the uses thereof" by adding thereto a new section
to be numbered Section.14" came up for its first reading and was read
by the Clerk.
Ordinance 1`0.34 entitled t- an Ordinance prohibitir; the flowing
of water in ublic streets" came up for its first reading and was
read by the lerk.
Notice of Sale of Franchise to construct and for a period of
forty years to maintain and operate a system of pipe lines for the
transportation and distribution of water, under, along and across
certain public streets within the city limits of the (;ity of "guest Covina, cos Angeles County, California, was read by the Clerk, approv-
ed as to form, and ordered published in the nearest authorized
paper.

Councilman l4atts moved the adoption of the following.resolution:
,,RESOLVED, that i,,he City Clerk be and he hereby is authorized to
offer for sale the above mentioned Franchisee, this was duly seconded
by Councilman Gloege and the resolution was adopted by the following
.vote: Ayes: Gloege, 14°axson, ,dVatts and Yarnell. ' Noes: None. Absent,
King.
Councilman Watts moved the adoption of the following resolution:
"RESOLVED, that the action of the City Clerk in approvinng�:,, map of
Tract Pdo.9911 , as finally corrected, as of March 23,192 is hereby
approved by the City Council of the City of West Covina,,. This was
seconded by Councibnan Gloege and unanimously adopted.
A map of a subdivision, being that of Tract No.8722, which is
within three miles of the exterior boundaries of the City of ;Jest
Covina, and submitted by the County Surveyor, came up for examination
by the City Council, and upon favorable report on said map by the
City Engineer of the City of "dest Covina, a resolution was introduced
bT Councilman Yarnell approving map of said tract 1t,'o.8722; this res-
o ution was duiy seconded by Councilman Watts, approved by a,.unani-
mous vote and the Clerk was instructed to so advise the County Sur-
veyor.
The -City Clerk was instructed to request the .1ono:rable Board of
Supervisors of ?cos Angeles County to imake the necessary repairs to
the %Nalnut Wash Bridge on Azusa Avenue, explaining that the City's
finances will not permit of the work being done.
The following resolution was introduced by Councilman `ffatts:
#,R.ESOLVED that the City Council of the City of "Jest Covina does here-
#y protest against the diversion of water from the San Dimas Dam to
the Puddingst6ne Dam unless Walnut 'quash is made adequate to carry the
additional water that may from time to time be ex ected; ' further that
the City Clerk is instructed to advise the Honorable Board of Super-.
visors of Los Angeles County relative to this resolution',- this eras
duly seconded by Councilman Yarnell and adopted by the foilowi vote:
Ayes Gloege, .Maxson, Watts and Yarnell. Nbes: !,.lone.' Absent, 17ing.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
