Minutes of the Board of Trustees
of the
City of Wiest Covina
Viest Covina, Calif., July 13, 1927.
The Board of Trustees of the City of 4vest Covina met at the
West Covina Club house on the 13th day of July, 1927. Present
Trustees Gloege, Watts and Yarnell. Absent, Trustees King and
Maxson.
Minutes of the meeting of June 15th read and approved.
The following bills, havingg been audited by the auditing com-
rnittee, on motion of Trustee Watts, seconded by Trustee Gloege and
• unanimously carried, were alloyed and the Clerk instructed to dray
warrants for the same:

.City Attorney v -vi1son was present and explained the interview he
had with Mir. Fisher, the Engineer in charge of the construction of
the Puddingstone Dam, which was to the effect that no material
changes from the original plans would be made; while the crest of
the dam is to be five feet lower, the spill -way will be correspond',;
in ly lower, so that about the only change will be a less volume of
water impounded.
On motion of Trustee Watts, seconded by,. -:Trustee Gloege, the
City Attorney, then present, was instructed to prepare an ordin-
ance to prohibit running waste water in streets.
A communication from the Southern Counties Gas Company asking
for a permit to lay 3635 feet of gas main on Rowland was read by
the Clerk. Trustee latts moved that the Board refuse to grant the
permit on account of the unusual distance (24, the proposed line
is to be from the south property line, adding that the Street Su t
be instructed to interview the bus company as to the reason for this
unusual distance, and if there is no reason, he (.the Street Supt)
is to order the gas company to remove that portion of the line al-
ready laid and locate their gas main 14 to 16 feet -from the south
property line. This motion was seconded by Trustee Gloege and un-
animously carried.

Ordinance No.32 entitled %n ordinance declaring certain
streets to constitute Boulevarde , came up for its first reading
and was read by the Clerk.
A communication from F. C. McCandless reqquesting an amendment
to our zoningordinance to permit him to ereci a small cabinet shop
and planing mill in the Eugene Higgins subdivision of the Hathawa':
Tract, was read by the Clerk whereupon it was moved by Trustee ViNts
seconded by Trustee Gloege and unanimously carried, that the Clerk
be instructed to request the City Attorney to draw up an ordinance
amending our zoninp, ordinance to permit of the granting of the
request above mentioned.
Thereupon, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the
meeting adjourned.
