Minutes of The Board of Trustees
of the
City of West Covina.
b West Covina, Calif., October 27, 1926.
The Board of Trustees of the City of West Covina met at the West
Covina Club House on the 27th day of October, 1926. Present, Trustees
Gloege, King, 111axson, Watts and Yarnell. Absent, None.
Minutes of the meeting of September lst read and approved.
The following bills, having been audited by the auditing com-
mittee, on motion of Trustee Yarnell, seconded by Trustee Gloege and
• carried, were allowed and the Clerk instructed to draw warrants for
the same:

A request from the Home Telephone Company to make certain exca-
vations for the purpose of laying underground cables was read and
the Clerk was instructed to grant the permit.
A letter from F. C. McCandless, on the subject of a zoning
ordinance was read by the Clerk and considerable discussion follow-
ed whereupon Trustee moved that the City Attorney be instructed to
prepare an ordinance whereby the entire area within the limits of
the City of West Covina be zoned as a residence district; this motion
was seconded,by Trustee Yarnell and was carried by the following
vote: Ayes, Gloege, King, Maxson, Watts and Yarnell. Noes, None.
Absent, None.
Messrs Eckermann and Girod personally presented a petion asking
the City of 'hest Covina to open, grade, oil and gravel Rowland Avenue
from the westerly line of the intersection of Vincent Avenue, westerly
• a.distance of approximately 1335 feet - rightofway acquited by peti-
tioners., to be deeded to City of West Covina. Trustee Watts moved
that the petition be tenatively accepted and referred to the Street
Committee, they to report on the matter at the next meeting of the
Board. This motion was duly seconded by Trustee King and unanimously
carried.
Thereupon, on motion duly made, seconded and carried$ the meeting
adjourned.
