The Board of Trustees of the City of West Covina met at the West Covina Club House on the 4th dayy of January, 1926 at the hour, of seven o'clock P.M., pursuant to the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled " An act to pprovide for the disincorporation of, municipal corporations of the siX clas approved March 26 1895 for the purpose of canvassing• the votes cast at the election .held in the said. City on the 28T dayy of -Decem- ber,,' 1925, for the purpose of voting on the question whether the sad Cityy of West Covina should disincorporate; and'also pursuant to a call issued by the.Pre's'id'ent of the Board of Trustees of said City, calling a soecial mee t*ing of the said ..Board at the said time and place, for the pur ose of transacting such business as should pro- perly come before the board. There were present Trustees G'loege,-King, Maxson, Watts and Yarnell absent, none. Thereupon,'the Board proceeded to canvass the votes cast at the election held on the 2Bth day of December,.1925, in the said City of West Covina, which said election was called for the pur- pose of voting on the question whether the said City of V►'est Covina should disincorporate. That upon completion of the canvass to the said election returns upon motion of Trustee Watts, seconded by Trustee King, the following resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes; Gioege, King, Niaxson, Watts and Yarnell; �1oes; None; absent• None ���E IT RESOLVED that this Board of Trustees now finds, deter- mines and dellares that at'the election heldon the 28th day of December, 1925, in the said City of West Covina for the purpose of .voting upon the question whether'the said.City should disincorpor- ate, a on the canvass of the returns. of the said election, it was found hat the total number of votes cast at the said election was two hundred sixty-four; that the total number of votes cast for disincorporation was ezd-aty-nine; that the total number of votes cast a inst disincorporation was one hundred seventy-five. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said Board now finds, deter- mines and declares that less than two-thirds of.the votes cast in the said election were in favor of disincorporation of the said City i of West: Covina, and that the petition for disincorporation of the said City of West Covina heretofore filed and ppursuant to which tr:�e said election was held, be and the same is hereby denied. NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING UPON THE QUESTION OF ANN.EXIN+G TO THE CITY OF WEST COVINA CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIG- NATED AS "NORTHVFEST ANNEXATION DISTRICT." iNOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN that a special election has been called and will be held in the territory herein- after described on the 13th day of February, 1926, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in the territory hereinafter described the following question or proposition: Shall the territory designated as the "NORT I.'IEST ANNEXATION DISTRICT" be annexed to the City of West Covina? That on the ballots to be used at the said election the said territory will be designated as "Northwest Annexation District," and the name "Northwest annexation District" on the said ballots shall mean and shall be deemed and construed to mean the said territory hereinbefore particularly described and proposed to be annexed to the said City of !'lest Covina. That on the ballots to be used at the said election there shall be printed the following: Shall the.territory designated as the "Northwest Annexation District" be annexed to the City of West Covina? YES Shall the territory designated as the "Northwest Annexation District" be annexed to the City of West Covina? NO That if an elector shall stamp a cross (X) in the voting square after the printed word "yes," the vote of such elector shall be counted in favor of annexation of the terri- tory referred to in said propc.siton to the City of West Co- vina; and if an elector shall stamp a cross (X) in the voting square after the printed word "no," the vote of such elector shall be counted azainst said annexation. That the ballots to be used at the said special election, the opening and closing of the polls for the said election, and the holding and conducting of the said election shall be in conformity as nearly as may be with the laws of the State of California concerning general elections in the State of California, except as otherwise provided in an Act entitled "An Ac;t to provide for the alteration of the boundaries of and for the annexation of territory to municipal corporations, for the incorporation of such annexed territory in and as a part thereof, and for the districting, government and municipal control of such annexed territory," approved June llth., 1913, and acts amendatory thereof and supplementary thereto.
