MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTFFS
of the
CITY OF W_'ST COVINA
West Covina, Cal., November 2, 1923•
The Board of Trustees o.f the City of west Covina met at
the West Covina Club House on the 2nd. day of November, 1923.
Present: Messrs. Anderson, King, Maxson, Watts and -Yar-
nell; absent: none.
Minutes of the meeting of October 24, 1923, were read
and approved.
Ordinance No..17 entitled # An ordinance amending section
5 of ordinance No.9t entitled 11 An ordinance regulating the mak-
ing of excavations in public streets, alleys or other public
places" came up for its second reading and was read by the Clerk.
Trustee Watts moved seconded by Trustee King that the said ordin-
ance be places on its assage, which was adopted by the following
vote: ayes; Anderson, �ing, Mlaxson, Wattsand Yarnell, noes; none.
On motion of `trustee 1atts, seconded by Trustee Yarnell,
the said ordinance was adopted by the following vote: ayes; And-
erson, King, Maxson, Watts and Yarnell, noes; none.
Representatives of the Southern Countids Gas Company,
four in number, were present and submitted a bond of indemnity, as
grepared by our City Attorney, in sum of $500.00 runnin to the
ity o West Covina as indemnity against their failure to properly
refill or re lace their excavations in the laying of their gas
mains th.ro the City of best Covina along Arroyo and Glendora
Avenues, -:1 an application for a permit from the Southern Counties
Gas Company to do this excavation was also read by the Clerk.
On motion of Trustee Anderson, seconded by Trustee King,
which was carried. the above mentioned indemnity bond of $500.00
was accented and the Clerk was instructed to issue the permit as
reque,ta b� the Southern Counties Gas Company with the understand-
ing that al excavations made would be refllled to the satisfaction
of the City of Vest Covina within a period of not to exceed. 90 days
from date of excavations.
A communication from the Boulder Dam Association solicit-
ing the City of West Covina as a member, was read by the Clerk and
on notion of Trustee llatts, seconded by Anderson, which was car-
ried, the communication%was ordered filed.
Thereupon, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the
meeting adjourned to meet on call at 7 o'clock P.M.
The foregoing minutes of the meeting of the Board of Trus-
tees of the City of West Covina of November 2, 1923, are duly re-
corded on Sage 33 of book of records of said board.
