10-24-1923 - Regular Meeting - Minutes3i MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES of the CITY OF WEST COVINA 'West Covina, Cal., October 24, 1923. The Board of Trustees of the City of 'eldest Covina met at the West Covina Club House on the 24th day of October, 1923. Present: Messrs. Anderson, King, +axson, Watts and Yarnell. Absent: None. Minutes of the meeting of October 17th were read and approved. A reap of a subdivision, being that of Tract No.1089, which lies vrithin three miles of the exterior boundaries of the City of West 'Covina, was received from the County Surveyor and upon favor- able report on said map of said tract by the City hngineer of the City of 4`dest Covina a motion vies made by Trustee Anerson, second- edy Trustee Yarnell that a resolution be adopted approving the map of said tract No.j1089 and that this action on the part of the Board of Trustees of the 6ity of West Covina be communicated to the County Surveyor; motion carried.. A com.riv nication from Mr. F. C. McCandless, asking permission to remove seventeen (17) palm trees from the Orange Avenue front- age of his place was read; Trustee �da.tts moved that the permission be granted, this seconded by Trustee Anderson and carried and the Clerk was instructed to so advise Mr. McCandless. The following bills, having been audited by the auditing com- mittee, on motion of Trustee Watts, seconded by Trustee Anderson, which was carried, they were allowed and the Clerk was instructed to draw warrants for the same: Boulevard Blacksmith Shop Tools repaired 2.50 N. A. Wolcott & Co Stationery 25.00 Gilmore Petroleum Co Road Oil 88.6o do do 88.60 Standard Oil Co Supplies 41.14 ffi 245.84 A co=unication from the County Health Officer, enclosing a proposed. agreement as between the County Health Department and the • City.of West Covina, listing the amounts to be charged for various service, was read and on motion of Trustee Anderson, seconded by Trustee Watts, which was carried, the Clerk was instructed to inform the County Health Officer that we were willing- to execute the agreement proposed and to ask for two copies of the agreement. Mr. Farmer, representing the Southern Counties Gas Company was present and requested permission to lay their gas mains along Arroyo and Glendora Avenues, and such other laterals as from time to time might be necessary, in the continuation of their as mains running from Covina to Puente, whereupon Ordinance 1 .17 entitled to ordnance amendin,$ Section No.5 of Ordinance No.9, entitled "An ordinance regulating the making of excavations in public streets, alleys or other ublic places" came up for its first read- ing and eras read by the C�erk. tru-.i ;n V� �.���-�-eaanded � •• II 32 Thereupon, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned to meet on call at ►, otclock P.M.
