Test Covina, Cal., August 29, 1923.
The Board of Trustees of the City of West Covina met at the West
Covina Club House on the 29th day of August, 1923.
Present, Messrs. Anderson, King, Maxson, Watts and Yarnell.
Absent, None.
Minutes of the regular meeting of August 1st as well as the
special meeting of August 13th were read and approved.
Ordinance No.16 entitled "An ordinance fixing the tax rate for
municipal purposes for the fiscal year 1923-1924" came up for its firs t
reading and was read. by the clerk.
A communication from uEr. W. A. Onions, dated August 21st, asking
permission from the City of West Covina'to remove five palm trees on
tYle property line in front of his place on West Workman Street, was
read' and on motion of Trustee'Watts, seconded by Anderson, which was
carried, the permission was granted and the Clerk was instructed to so
advise Ur. Onions.
The following bills, having been audited by the auditing committee,
were read, and on motion of `trustee Watts, seconded by Anderson, which
was carried, they were allowed and the clerk instructed to draw war -
wants for the same.

Thereupon on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meet-
ing adjourned to meet at 7 o'clock P.M., September 5th.
