MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
of the
CITY OF WEST,COVINA
West Covina, Cal., July 18, 1923.
The Board of Trustees of the City of West Covina met at the
West Covina. Club House on the 18th day of July, 1.923.
Present, Messrs. Anderson, King, Maxson, Watts and Yarnell.
Minutes of the meeting of July 11th were read and approved.
Trustee Maxson, being a committee of one, to look into the
matter of employing.a Motor Cycle .Officer and the expense in connec-
tion with such service, reported that he had been in conference with
representatives of Covina and La Verne, and learned that it was ro-
posed to pay such officer $16o.00 per month and that Covina and Ea
Verne would expect West Covina to use such officer two days of each
week, or in other words stand one-third of his salary; Trustee Max -
son further advised that this arrangement could not be consumated.

Covina. On motion of Trustee Watts, seconded by Anderson, which was
carried, the committee was continued and authorized to arran e for
such service, two days of each week, for a period of two months.

On motion of Trustee Watts, seconded by King, a resolution
was adopted authorizingand directing the Clerk to advertise for
sealed bids for the folowing road machinery, as specified and approv-
ed by the Board of Trustees in the published notices asking for said
bids:
- 3 ton Roller
- Planetainer attachment
- Scarifier attachment
- 1 Ton Weight
- Grader
The notices above referred to were posted in public places
at four different points at 9:30 P.N., _July 18, 1923.
Thereupon, on motion duly made seconded and carried., the
meeting; adjourned to meet on call at 7 otclock P. M.
