DISCUSSION: The attached meeting minutes are for the regular Community and Senior Services Commission meeting held on March 9, 2021. Document was received, reviewed, and filed. 6) Community Development Block Grant (C.D.B.G.) Funding & Future Projects Discussion - Public Services Superintendent, Mike Cresap. It is recommended that the Commission direct staff on how they wish to precede. Presented by Mike Cresap. Discussion was had on what the funds are, what they can be used for and if they are a reoccurring fund or a one-time funding source. Further discussion with Commissioners, City Manager and city Staff was had on these processes. 7) Commissioner Zaklama request for report on Senior Services provided to Senior residents within the City as well as Senior Living facilities within the city limits. Presentation by Susie Perez, Community Services Manager. It is recommended that the Commission receive and file this report. Presented by Susie Perez. Discussion was had on what services are provided to our citizens in the senior community, future plans for services and how these services can be communicated to the senior community citywide. Further discussion was had. 8) Facility Reports for November 2020 and December 2020. It is recommended that the Commission receive and file these reports. Document was received, reviewed, discussion was had, documents were filed. CONTINUED BUSINESS 9) Measure A Funded Park Project Updates Presentation by Public Services Superintendent, Mike Cresap. It is recommended that Commission receive and file this report. Presented by Mike Cresap. Discussion was had on what the funds are, what they can be used for, if they are a reoccurring fund or a one-time funding source and current or future projects to be processed using this funding source. Further discussion with Commissioners, City Manager and city Staff was had on these processes. AD HOC COMMITTEE REPORTS None. REPORTS Commissioner Jen Gutierrez - No updates. Commissioner Robert Torres — Discussed concerns of addressing human relations and human rights within the city, the CAHOOTS program that Eugene Oregon has implemented and how our city can implement this type of program to address homelessness needs within the community, possible forming of a separate commission to address racism concerns within the city. Commissioners Karim Zaklama- Updated on the services his company is providing along with the WCUSD to offer the students of the most venerable communities to do paid internship programs with local businesses communities. Also wanted to welcome the new Commissioners. ITEMS TO BE AGENDIZED Commissioner Torres - Request a vote on holding a special meeting to discuss the CAHOOTS program and how the city can implement this program or something similar as well as discussion on racism within the city and how to address this as a commission.
