A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, REPEALING AND
REPLACING THE SALARY SCHEDULE FOR FULL-TIME
CLASSIFICATIONS OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
WHEREAS, Section 2-205 of the City of West Covina's ("City") Municipal Code
provides that the compensation of employee shall be fixed as set forth in the Municipal Code or
by resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, on April 7, 2021, the Human Resources Commission approved the proposed
Public Health Officer job description and salary grade. The job description and salary grade were
approved by the City Council on April 20, 2021. The Public Health Officer's salary range will be
from range DHXX, $12,864 - $15,637 per month; and
WHEREAS, on April 7, 2021, the Human Resources Commission approved the proposed
Maintenance Services Coordinator job description and salary grade. The job description and salary
grade were approved by the City Council on April 20, 2021. The Maintenance Service
Coordinator's salary range will be from range MTXX, $4,897 - $5,952 per month, and
WHEREAS, public agencies report payrates to California Public Employees' Retirement
System ("Ca1PERS"). Government Code sections 20636, 20636.1, 7522.34 (a) and corresponding
sections of the California Code of Regulations (CCR) 570.5 require that all Ca1PERS employers
maintain their compensation levels in apublicly available document, approved and adopted by the
governing body; and
WHEREAS, there is no fiscal impact to update the City's salary schedule.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by this
reference.
SECTION 2. The full-time classifications, attached hereto and incorporated herein as
Exhibit "A", are approved, and employees shall be paid in accordance with the salary schedule set
forth in Exhibit "A."
SECTION 3. Resolution No. 2021-24 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. The Finance Director shall assign salary grade codes for the Public Health
Officer and Maintenance Services Coordinator classifications.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall enter
the same in the book of original resolutions and it shall become effective immediately.
