City Council,
i heard the City is meeting tonight in closed session over the BKK property.
The City has not yet taken any community input on the land the City is considering selling. It only held public input
sessions on the land the city leases, not the far more important 122 acres that sits near single family homes and next to
a Class 1 landfill.
The Singpoli presentation earlier this month was "a concept" It would be reckless for Council to enter into any binding
agreement without knowing the details and without community input on the land it intends to sell. The City needs to
explore uses that minimize negative impact on residents and our quality of life.
This decision on BKK will be the most important you make during your council term. Do not rush into it without resident
input and without a state agency contamination study. Doing so will lead to a blowback from residents, loss of trust, and
possible liability for the city.
