A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2008-22,
RELATING TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE WEST COVINA FIREFIGHTERS'
ASSOCIATION, LA.F.F., LOCAL 3226
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina's Fire Department will operate an ambulance
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve that
Resolution Nos. 2008-13 relating to the memorandum of understanding between the City and the
West Covina Firefighter's Association, I.A.F.F., Local 3226 is hereby amended as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves the amendment to the agreement, which is
attached to this resolution as Attachment A.
SECTION 2. That Resolution Nos. 2008-13, as amended, relating to the memorandum of
understanding between the City and the West Covina Firefighter's Association, I.A.F.F., Local
3226 is hereby further amended by this Resolution.
SECTION 3. The effective date of this Resolution is May 6, 2008.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 61h day of May 2008.

REGARDING SPECIAL PAY — FIRE INVESTIGATOR
SECTION 19. SPECIAL PAY
B. Fire Investigator Pay
a. Effective the first day of the pay period beginning on or after July 1, 2007,
designated Arson Investigators shall receive two hundred and fifty dollars ($250)
per month.
b. In order to be eligible for the Fire Investigator pay, unit employees must be
designated by the Fire Chief as an Arson Investigator and must have completed
the following courses by July 1, 2009:
1. Fire Investigation IA Fire Origin & Cause Determination
2. Fire Investigation I Techniques of Fire Investigation
3. Fire Investigation 2A Criminal & Legal Procedures
4. Fire Investigation 2B Field Case Studies
5. PC 832
a. Module A- Laws of Arrest & Control
b. Module B- Firearms Training
c. The Fire Chief shall determine the number of positions eligible for Fire
Investigator Pay.
