• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 7223 RELATING TO CLASSIFICATIONS AND COMPENSATION,
AS AMENDED, AND APPROVING THE REVISED CLASS SPECIFICATIONS FOR
ASSISTANT CITY CLERK, BUILDING AND SAFETY DIRECTOR,
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR, POLICE CHIEF, POLICE CORPORAL, POLICE
LIEUTENANT, PRINCIPAL PLANNER, SENIOR CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER,
SENIOR PLANNER, AND EQUIPMENT OPERATOR.
WHEREAS, the City Clerk's office has changed the wording in the class
specification for Assistant City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the Building and Safety Department has clarified the duties in the
class specification for Building and Safety Director; and
WHEREAS, the Communications Department has changed the wording in the class
specification for Communications Director; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has updated the training and experience in
the class specification for Police Chief; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has removed language contained elsewhere
from the class specification for Police Corporal; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has clarified duties in the class
specification for Police Lieutenant; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department has clarified the duties in the class
specification for Principal Planner; and
WHEREAS, the Building and Safety Department has updated the title of the
Information and Special Services Section to the Code Enforcement Section in the class
specification for Senior Code Enforcement Officer; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department has clarified the duties in the class
specification for the Senior Planner; and
WHEREAS, the Maintenance Department has updated the duties and requirements
in the class specification for the Equipment Operator;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina, California
does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The revised class specification for Assistant City Clerk,
attached and marked "Exhibit All is hereby adopted.
SECTION 2. The revised class specification for Building and Safety
Director, attached and marked "Exhibit B" is hereby adopted.
SECTION 3. The revised class specification for Communications Director,
attached and marked "Exhibit C" is hereby adopted.
SECTION 4. The revised class specification for Police Chief, attached and
marked "Exhibit D" is hereby adopted.
SECTION 5. The revised class specification for Police Corporal, attached
and marked "Exhibit E" is hereby adopted.
SECTION 6. The revised class specification for Police Lieutenant, attached
and marked "Exhibit F" is hereby adopted.
SECTION 7. The revised class specification for Principal Planner, attached
and marked "Exhibit G" is hereby adopted.
SECTION 8. The revised class specification for Senior Code Enforcement
Officer, attached and marked "Exhibit H" is hereby adopted.
•SECTION 9. The revised class specification for Senior Planner, attached
and marked "Exhibit I" is hereby adopted.
SECTION 10. The revised class specification for Equipment Operator,
attached and marked "Exhibit J" is hereby adopted.
SECTION 11. Resolution 7223, as amended, relating to classification and
compensation of position as amended, is hereby further amended by this resolution.
SECTION 12. The effective date of this resolution is June 12, 1989.
SECTION 13. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
