Resolution - 8257RESOLUTION NO. 8257 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA CALIFORNIA, SETTING THE RATE FOR POLICE RESPONSE TO LOUD OR UNRULY ASSEMBLAGES. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1787 of the City of West Covina, California, provides that the City Council shall levy a fee for police • response to loud or unruly assemblages via adoption of a resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina • does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Officers responding to assemblages identified in ordinance No. 1787 shall be deemed to be on special security • assignment. Established hourly rates shall be adjusted annually and the assessed fee shall provide for reimbursement to the City for those costs incurred. SECTION 2. The hourly rate shall be determined annually by the Director of Finance and shall'include salary, workers compensation, and administrative overhead. SECTION 3. Fee assessed may also include damages to City property and/or injuries to City personnel. SECTION 4. Fee assessed shall not exceed one thousand dollars for a single incident. The City reserves the right to elect other legal remedies in those instances where cost or damage exceeds one thousand dollars. SECTION 5. Resources utilized shall be reported to the Director of Finance for billing and collection. SECTION 6. This resolution shall become effective immediately. SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution. ATTEST: APPROVED and ADOPTED this 14th day of November , 1988.
