Resolution - 8221RESOLUTION NO. 8221 • A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AGREEING TO MAINTAIN THE WALNUT CREEK BIKEWAY (PHASE II). WHEREAS, SB-821 provides that 2% of each county's total local Transportation Fund be annually set aside and used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has requested alloca- tion of $120,000.00 of SB 821 funds for construction of the Walnut Creek Bikeway along the Walnut Creek Channel between Azusa Avenue and Citrus Street; and WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission will not approve the City's request unless the City agrees to main- tain the above -named bikeway facility; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to agree to maintain the above - named facility. NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as follows: 1. To maintain, or cause to be maintained in safe con- dition, all facilities whose construction is wholly or partially funded by the requested allocation mentioned above. 2. To provide regular sweeping of the above -named bikeway facility. 3. To repair and replace all damaged or illegible signs associated with the above -named bikeway facility.
