A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE COMPENSATION PAYABLE TO CLASSIFICATIONS
WITHIN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA'S LIMITED SERVICE, RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO. 7994.
WHEREAS, the City has completed a market survey of all limited service
classifications and;
WHEREAS, the market survey indicates a need for salary adjustments;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 7994 is hereby rescinded and superseded by
this resolution.
SECTION 2. That hourly wage rates for the following Limited Service
classes are hereby established by Attachment "A" of this resolution:
Administrative Intern
Assistant Pool Manager
Clerk Aide I
Clerk Aide II
Clerk Aide III
Communications Assistant
Crossing Guard
Data Processing Intern
Dressing Room Attendant
Engineering Trainee
Landscape Architect Trainee
License Checker
Lifeguard/Instructor

SECTION 3. Budget Allocation.

That the City Council does hereby allocate an amount of money sufficient
to fund the salary adjustment for the life of this resolution and authorize the
transfer of funds for this purpose from the contingency fund.
SECTION 4. The effective date of this resolution is February 1, 1988.

Pay assignment and pay increases for limited service classifications shall be
granted as follows:
Group I, II and III: Begin new employees at Step 1 (except as noted above). Steps
2 and 3 are awarded after successful completion of 500 hours of work per step.
Group IV: Assign as follows:
1. Newly employed or assigned
2. Successful completion of one year at Step "1" plus 200 hours annual
non -paid service
3. Successful completion of one year at Step 112" plus 200 hours annual
non -paid service
