Resolution - 8146• • RESOLUTION NO. 8146 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 7223, RELATING TO CLASSIFI- CATION AND COMPENSATION OF POSITIONS, AS AMENDED; AND FIXING COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR PERSONNEL IN CLASSES REPRESENTED BY THE WEST COVINA POLICE OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION. WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has met and conferred with the West Covina Police Officers' Association; and WHEREAS, the City and representatives of the West Covina Police Officers' Association have agreed upon certain changes in salaries, benefits and working conditions for members of said Association; and WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding has been referred to the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of West Covina does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Salary - That Resolution No. 7223, as amended, relating to classification and compensation of positions is hereby amended by Appendix A of this Resolution; thereby fixing compensation and benefits for personnel in classes represented by the West Covina Police Officers' Association. SECTION 2. Health and Welfare A. Health Insurance 1. That effective the second paycheck in June 1988, the City shall hereby increase the contribution toward the payment of premiums for City contracted employee health insurance by a dollar amount equal to the July 1, 1988 increase in the cost of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. The City increase shall not exceed $15. 2. That effective the second paycheck in June 1989, the City shall hereby increase the contribution toward the payment of premiums for City contracted employee health insurance by a dollar amount equal to the July 1, 1989 increase in the cost of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. The City increase shall not exceed $15. B. Dental Insurance That effective January 1, 1989, the City will hereby contribute $20.00 per month,, per employee towards the payment of premiums for City contracted dental insurance. SECTION 3. Retirement - That effective July 1, 1988, the City PERS contribution, on behalTo he employee, shall hereby be increased from 7% to 9%. SECTION 4. Uniform Allowance/Cleaning Allowance - Effective January 1, 1988, the Uniform Allowance an Cleaning Allowance shall hereby be combined into •one program payable annually in one lump sum. The City shall hereby contribute an additional $25.00 January 1, 1988 for a total of $375.00. That effective January 1, 1989, the City shall hereby contribute an additional $25.00 for a total of $400.00. SECTION 5. Compensatory Time - That City of West Covina Resolution No. 7223, Section 9.40 (c)(2) is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 9.40(c)(2) Compensatory Time Off. • 2. 40 hours - Ptrl-i=ee-,a*d miscellaneous employees. Sworn Police employees - In the absence of the approval of the Chief of Police the maximum amount of compensator time which may be accumulated by any one employee shall be sixty (60) hours. U on request and after a roval of the Chief of Police the sixty (60) hour accumulation may be increase . SECTION 8.
