A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA,
FIXING THE COMPENSATION PAYABLE TO CLASSIFICATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA'S LIMITED SERVICE, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 6980 AND AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 1277, AS AMENDED.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That resolution No. 6980 is hereby rescinded and
superseded by this resolution.
SECTION 2. That Section VI, as amended, of Resolution No. 1277 related
to wages for LIMITED Service Classes is hereby amended by Attachment A of this
resolution, which is on file in the Personnel Department.
SECTION 3. Hourly wage rates for the fol'iowing Limited Service
Classes shall be increased by three and one-half percent (31%) effective
February 1, 1986.

That the City Council does hereby allocate an amount of money
sufficient to find these salary adjustments for the life of this
resolution, and authorize the transfer of funds for this purpose from
Project No. 79031.
SECTION 5. The effective date of this resolution is February 1, 1986.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.

Pay assignment and pay increases for limited service classifications shall be
granted as follows:
Group I: With the approval of the City Manager, may be hired at a rate of $3.07 to
'7.70 per hour depending upon qualifications and level of assigned duties.
Group I, II and III: Begin new employees at Step 1 (except as noted above). Steps
2 and 3 are awarded after successful completion of 500 hours of work per step.

Group IV: Assign as follows:
• 1. Newly employed or assigned
2. Successful completion of one year at Step "1" plus 200-hours annual
non -paid service
3. Successful completion of one year at Step "2" plus 200 hours annual
non -paid service
Note: An employee, upon promotion to a higher limited service class within the
• same series, when possible, shall be placed on the step in the new range
that results in an increase in wages.
