COVINA,
OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS
OF THE CITY OF WEST
INTENTION TO
COLLECT
THE ANNUAL SEWER STANDBY
AND AVAILABILITY
CHARGE
THROUGH THE COUNTY GENERAL
TAX BILL AND ESTAB-
LISH A
DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING THEREON.

Hearing: May 13, 1985)
WHEREAS, Section 38902 of the Government Code empowers a city to fix an
annual sewer service standby or immediate availability charge; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina, by Resolution No. 5756, has estab-
lished such a sewer service or.immediate availability charge; and
WHEREAS, the City may collect the standby or immediate availability
charge as part of the annual General County Tax Bill; and
WHEREAS, the law requires a Public Hearing be held on this method of
collecting the service charge.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of West Covina, does hereby
declare its intention to collect sewer standby or immediate availability
charges as a part of the annual General County Tax Bill, and hereby sets
May 13, 1985 as the date for a Public Hearing on this method of collecting the
service charges.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized, designated and
directed to give notice of said Hearing in time, form and manner as required
by law.
SECTION 3. That the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, a daily newspaper of
general circulation, published and circulated within the said City of West
Covina, California, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which such notice
shall be published.
SECTION 4. That this resolution shall take effect immediately, and the
City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the original of the same to be entered among the original resolutions of
the City Council of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and
adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said
city in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
