Resolution - 6816RESOLUTION NO. 6816 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA AMENDING RESOLUTIONS NOS. 6437, 6482, 6779, AND 6803 RELATING TO MAN- AGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL SERVICES, AND RESOLUTION NO. 1277 RELATING TO CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION OF POSITIONS. WHEREAS, a core of administrative professionals, more commonly known as • the management team, has been established; and WHEREAS, it isinecessary to update resolutions pertaining to management and confidential -exempt salaries from time to time; and WHEREAS, Council has established that annual adjustments to the City Manager, City Treasurer, management employees and confidential employees are grant- ed as in the General Employee's representation unit. Annual increases for manage- ment employees in the Fire and Police Departments are granted as in their respec- tive employee units; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That Resolutions 6437, 6482, 6779, and 6803 relating to man- agement confidential services are hereby amended. SECTION 2. That attachment "A" Management and Confidential Salary Range A of Resolution 6803 and Exhibit A of Resolution 6779 are hereby amended by Attach- ment "A" of this resolution, which is on file in the Personnel Department. SECTION 3. That Section 2D2 of Resolution No. 6437 establishing a Range "B" and the criteria for awarding Range "B" assignments to employees whose value exceeds normal expectations, and is hereby amended. The maximum Range "B" salary allowable shall exceed the top of Range "A" as amended in Attachment A of this • resolution by fifteen (15%) percent. SECTION 4. HEALTH AND WELFARE That Section 4A of Resolution No. 6482 establishing benefits is hereby amended. Effective January 1, 1984, the City shall include retirees on the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan upon employee request. This benefit shall be available to employees who have ten or more years of service with the City of West Covina or who receive a disability retirement. The employee/retiree will pay the premium expense. The provision of this benefit is dependent upon approval by Kaiser Foun- dation Health Plan (KFHP). SECTION 5. JURY LEAVE That Section XV, Jury; Witness Leave, of Resolution No. 1277 to provide for the following: Section XV, the Jury Leave, Wage Continuance Program will be limited to 20 (twenty) days per calendar year. Employees.may request the usage of wage continuance from future years if placed on a trial. SECTION 6. BUDGET ALLOCATION That the City Council does hereby allocate an amount of money sufficient to fund these salary and benefit adjustments for the life of this resolution, and authorize the transfer of funds for these purposes from Project 79030. • SECTION 7.
